The First Legion moves away from the greenskins, which these acknowledge with quite a cacophony of unintelligible shouts. As the scouts move back west, they note the occassional green head peeking from behind rocks and stone, so they take a slightly different route back to avoid leading enemies back to Haskanara for the time being. This way, they pass a peculiar cave...
Quarrying the nearby hills, the Haskanara in Skethorum find a bright, shining metal. Somewhat to his disappointment, Skan finds it nigh-unusable for weaponry, but it should work nicely for currency and jewelry. He also improves and refines his earlier conception of the Haskanaran currency, though he finds that these may require a specialized building. And the city is getting somewhat crowded...
... The First Legion is ambushed from the peculiar cave. Not by the green humanoids, but by stranger beasts - a spherical body, furrowed like a brain, but not bisected, and trailing a powerful, lashing tentacle, or trailing nettles like jellyfishes, that is all the creatures are. They float out of the cave, lashing and touching the Haskanara, who valiantly fight back.
It soon becomes apparent that the beasts, for all their strangeness, are weaker than the First Legion. While several Haskanara are wounded, many more of the creatures lay dead, and the Haskanara receive aid that is as unexpected as it is ineffectual - several greenskins toss spears and rocks at the tentacled beasts from afar. Once the last of the beasts is slain, one of the greenskins cautiously apporached unarmed, his arms away from his body, only a small piece of chalk in his hands.
