Nobles without immigration?
« on: March 25, 2010, 09:07:12 am »

If I have a very low max population (like 9) so that my fort only grows by natural reproduction, will nobles still eventually immigrate if my population grows large enough? Do children count toward population for determining noble immigration?

While I haven't tried this, I do believe they will eventually immigrate if you manage to survive long enough to have that many children.

Children also certainly count towards your overall fortress population, which is what is measured for purposes of immigrating nobles.

If you mean a population cap of 9 in the init, then yes, you'll still get nobles.  They aren't affected by the population cap.  It keeps happening to me well past my popcap (growing via birth only now).

Sorry for asking here, but will they come if your civilization no longer exists?
