Robert loads the shotgun, drawing confidence from the powerful weapon. Now that he's properly armed, he hopes he can take on those... things and find Meghan.

Robert steps outside the bar, moving NORTHWEST and finds himself in Town Square. Night is quickly falling, to the NORTH is the Town Hall. He hears some commotion there, and there are several lights on there. To the west is a shop, and there's not much else interesting.

Robert approaches the Town hall, shotgun up and ready. Nothing challenges him as he cautiously moves towards it, and he even feels his aches slowly fading. As he comes closer, he sees several people congregating near the entrance. Most of them are armed with pistols or shotguns, but a few have hunting rifles, and they all seem to be arguing. They don't notice Robert coming, and he even manages to catch pieces of their conversation.

"... should leave this very instant!"
"What about... can't let this happen!"
"People at the hospital... Gotta save 'em!"
"You fool! Damn them! They'll only slow..."

"Well, I won't leave those poor people to die! I'm going to the hospital! Come on, you guys!" He gestures towards the direction of the hospital. The crowd seems stunned at his brave, or foolishly stupid, decision. For a moment, the crowd is silent, until it is broken by quiet murmuring. One man, an elderly Caucasian with an artifical leg laughs.  A scoped Ruger Mini-14 is slung on his back, and a pistol is in a holster on his belt.

"You've got guts, kid. Hell, I don't have much ta live for, so count me in." He steps forwards, and shakes Robert's calloused hand with his own. "Th' name's Mahoney. Bill Mahoney."

Possibly encouraged by this, a huge African American man steps forward, and practically crushes Robert's hand in his ham-like fist.

"The name is Maxwell." Maxwell has a hatchet on a loop in his belt, and a pump-action shotgun on his back. pleased at the volunteers, Robert makes to leave the Town Hall and find Meghan.

The three of them begin to make their way to the hospital, but not before getting some supplies from the townspeople, including some first aid kits, QuikAid serums, and ballistic vests, as well as a small meal before they leave.

Robert confidently moves through the town, but his newfound companions hold back, weapons at the ready.

Robert and the others move into a more densely populated part of town, passing abandoned homes. The ambient red light still persists, and thunder continues to boom in the skies.

A few minutes later, Robert hears a loud noise, comparable to... a helicopter! A Blackhawk Helicopter is flying in the direction of the hospital.

"Well, I guess we have our work done for us." Mahoney mutters. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning arcs out of the sky, and strikes the helicopter! the craft's rear explodes in a gout of fire, and it careens from the sky, crashing some blocks away.

You begin to hear gunfire in that direction.

I'll also be taking this short break to ask: Is this enjoyable? I'm thinking of making a sequel, but only if people like it. I enjoy these kinds of games, and I love making them.
