I'm planning a megaconstruction, and I intend to make it out of one type of block. There will probably be thousands of blocks in this thing. So I'm wondering what block you think I should use. Any stone, metal or glass (or any other thing that can be turned into construction-worthy blocks) is up for suggestion (except adamantine wafers, I'd rather not mess with future strange moods).
I intend to use a reaction hack to produce enough blocks (without making intermediary bars, stone, etc) for this purpose. So literally anything is allowed.

Unless you don't mind the micromanagement involved with glass blocks, I'd say go with metal or stone.

I tried a megaproject with green glass blocks, but the frustration over the micromanagement and other stuff involved led me to abaindon that, along with the low FPS I was getting in that fort.

plump helmets. If you set up the reaction right, you can have plump helmet blocks. It causes weird effects, though.

Pfft. if we're going for ridiculous soap sculpture, then make my vote for mermaid soap. But I still think a tower of Plump Helmet Blocks would be ridiculous and awesome. (and purple, btw)

I make almost everything out of obsidian blocks, mostly because I like the dark, foreboding look of it.

I also do like building gigantic constructions out of goblinite. Suitable monument to their failure.

Pretty sure you can't make blocks out of soap. Are raw bars going to create a smooth construction? If so, I'll consider soap.
plump helmet blocks... that worries me.
I was building a tower with green glass. But I admit, having only one glassmaker really slows it down. So I hacked myself some spare glass furnaces. I shouldn't be using them much longer though.
I expected the microcline.
Obsidian is OK. Pitchblende.... I think that mainly services the imagination. Is it actually purple in-game? (That would make me much more interested, purple is a cool color)
Nobody thinks that I should try aluminum or gold or some other precious metal?
