Yes. Its amazing how much of a difference that makes. I have cleaned off the computers of porn addicts. Its just.... scary....

Well yes, but just because people don't do it doesn't mean they shouldn't. Working at my college's IT help desk I have come to the conclusion that all teachers take a computer illiteracy course at some point and should be forced to take computer science 101(basically "microsoft office for dummies")

I concur.

IMO, all faculty and staff should be required to pass a class on basic:
-MS office (or whatever similar package the college uses)
-Projector use (ever spent 10 minutes waiting for the prof to get the projector turned on?)
-Web browsing and e-mail safety
-... uhm... any other, more specific programs they will use as part of their job (stats programs, work-scheduling stuff, etc.)

Not exactly... but a few of them do ask for help playing videos in windows media player.

Actually, some projectors are just very bad at communicating why it isn't working the way they think it should.

Example: If there was a button that would show a thumbnail view of each channel at the same time, have the channel name under it, and allow the user to select the channel from within that menu, their sales would likely be extremely high purely for the resulting conveniance, even if the device was slightly worse than similarily priced competitors. An extra 10% maximum resolution is meaningless compared to the ability to see, at a glance, when you have it plugged in correctly without having to flip through all input modes, hoping that *this time* it worked.

seriously. my friend had a class for an entire semester that was basically every single thing you'd ever need to know about Word ever (and a few related things in Powerpoint)

The Microsoft product interfaces surpass many databases in lookup complexity.


This is only a serious problem if there is a font button showing with no click requirement.
Because seriously, the paragraph is FUCKING hidden.
If I could count all the time I've spent digging for that fucking paragraph menu I'd say it would come to a neat little TOO LONG,
Especially when my 'feature' is in another castle.
Of course, the very method of finding this button is now obsolete in the latest version, But hasn't triggered any noticeable speedup.

Windows is become full of hood ornaments and extra attatchments.
