Last night, by 'tonight'. It seems I meant this night.  Sorry it'll get done.

Actually, if you kill too many people, you shut down the site, which gains some negative public opinion.

The optimal level then is to step onto the site, kill 2-5 people, then exit. Do this for 3 days in a row, and generally, it pushes public opinion from 50% to 100%...

Ha, I wouldn't have guess that.  Seems like keeping the AM radio perpetually "shut down" would be a positive thing.  Then again, killing a few people every day probably hinders their operation!

I'm trying to understand why the public reacts the way it does.  I guess LCS operations, including ultraviolent attacks against "news" agencies, get people riled up.  Which, in the LCS universe, makes them abandon the security of conservatism for liberalism.

Maybe they like the death squads as long as the peace is kept.  Then when the LCS breaks the peace anyway, the public sees no reason to keep the death squads who are now no longer effective, just evil.

The AM radio personalities probably spend their time painting liberals as weak and cowardly, so it makes sense that attacking the radio station erodes their support.

I don't really get how attacking the cable news network could help, though.  They sell fear, the idea that liberals are all terrorists who want to cut off your head!  So the LCS comes in, shouting slogans, and kills them with swords.  Um, I would expect public opinion of the network to soar after that (:

Well, I'm just killing a lunch break and bumping the thread.  Don't mind me.

I think jasonred79 meant for the AM Radio and Cable TV to be the exception to the stated rule.  If not, I claim this as the "EuchreJack Exception".  Personally, my first priority is to keep the Conservative Media shut down, as you probably noticed from my playthrough.  Shutting them down three times seems to get the public sufficiently disgusted with them.

I'm really surprised that shooting up the Police Station helped the Police Regulation issue.  I thought this caused a backlash against the LCS, on the theory that the cops were ineffective now and needed less restraints.

And chopping people up making people think guns are bad is the exact opposite of what I would expect.  Glad it worked, but people buy guns in real life out of fear of people acting like the LCS.  Perhaps the problems is that swords never become illegal in LCS, but in real life one can actually get charged criminally for owning a sharp sword.

heh. In my country, it's the opposite. You can buy a machette from like a hardware store or somewhere that sells farming equipment, but guns licenses are very hard to obtain.

*Log of the LCS, September and October*

With the need for new recruits, people who are not wanted for murder or rehabilitation... the LCS begins its search.

Team Ninja went to the AM Radio Station, I don't know who gave the go ahead or if they went on their own.  But, they managed to close down the Radio Station AND give a decent talk on the radio.  Only Green was injured, lightly.

Team Ninja, after that fiasco was sent to the Downtown Trafford Apartment where they are to hole up for the time being.  Cops are looking for them.

The 'Liberal Crime Squad' was sent down to McCain St. Slum Block, to find new recruits.  Something definitley happened out there... The local gangs controlling the block have submitted to us.  Herbert Petermann and Jess Palm came back, near death.  Both Herbert's eyes and his nose, are all gone.  The poor bastard has sacrificed much for the cause.

I'll get the full report from Dan Palmer, the only one unscathed, as the others recoup.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A veteran soldier was recruited today.  His callsign seems to be Zangi, a little wierder then the folk we have here, but, enthusiastic enough.

Team Ninja went to the police station and took Derrick Booker, Deathsquad Officer in for rehabilitation.  We need informants.  Or at least practice.

I knew he was wierd... But this takes it all. Hes taken some of the new crackhead initiates to the Oubliette and outfitted himself and the others... with Hammers and Mithril Mail.  What is wrong with these people?  I've sent the fools down to stay in Vasilevsky Apartment, hoping it isn't contagious.  His influence over the new recruits to the 'Hammer Time' was concerning.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After 17 days, Team Ninja converted the Deathsquaddie... with Red as lead converter...

On another note... a number of new recruits were lost due to Death Squad Patrols...  and even more under the 'Hammer Time' Squad...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Training the 'Hammer Time' Squad to a deadly force on par with Team Ninja or the not as well trained 'original' LCS?  Takes a hell of a lot of work.

I suppose I could have taken screenshots of liberals getting killed... trying to get the Hammer groove.  Oh well.

I'd have gone axe, but raiding the pyromaniacs wielding them would have been.... Damn.  Thats what I should have done.

Whats a good catch phrase for Axes?

There's the "axe me a question" which is staler than conservatism.

I prefer "Fear my elite hacker skills!".

Maybe shout "TIMBER" a few times too.

If we're returning to the era of "hammertime!", then we have no choice but to also bring back...

"axe axe baby!"

... too cold?

Try it with vanilla then.

All righty! A bit belated, but Zangi did post, so hurrah. Rolan7, looks like it's your time to shine now. Carry the Liberal Community Squad to glory!

the hammer squad will NEVER be as good as the ninja squad, since their base stats as pretty inferior. Also, hammers are pretty inferior weapons to swords and guns. The fact that their default armor is mithril mail doesn't help either, since that makes em even easier to get killed...

But in terms of concept, they are too cool.

Actually, I overstated the melee weapon laws.  In the US, guns are sorta hard to buy, with most states requiring a 5 day waiting period and a background check (Felons are not allowed to own firearms).  Knifes and machettes can be bought at camping supply stores and most department stores, but only by people over the age of 18 (same as guns with the minimum age).  Although guns can also be purchased in the same sort of stores.

Generally, the only times anyone is charged with possession of a deadly weapon (that's what it is called when you have a sharpened sword, for example) is when the person is either arrested for some other crime, or when the police are trying to crack down on gang activity.

By the way, there is generally no way to criminally charge someone with possession of a hammer.  Hammers: The guilt-free personal defense weapons.

That is the idea.  The concept never was to be the 'best'.  Just passable.  And yea, I didn't feel like going around to recruit dancers and stuff.  Slummed it all the way.

Any squad relying on Mythril Mail in LCS really can not be taken seriously.  But is still uberawesome.

Ack, thanks for the reminder!  I was watching the thread but didn't realize it was my turn.
Here's my save, finally: http://rapidshare.com/files/377102448/save_January_10.rar.html

I apologize very much for the quality of my write-up.  I had a story I wanted to tell, of Rolan7 proudly admitting his "crimes" before the jury.  Of being shocked by the violence of the LCS but realizing that desperate measures were necessary to end the conservative nightmare he lived in.

Instead, I played with the ninjas some and got harassed by the CCS and some crazy bugs.  My writeup isn't organized at all, and I'm afraid I have no time to make it better.  Here it is, spoilered to hide the ugliness:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Again, sorry I can't edit this any better.  Family emergency of sorts ):  Also, heh, sorry for getting some members killed, and for rambling about the weird party bug (Still in the save, it's the "Agency Defense" party).

I don't see what I could have possibly done to save Grimith without save-scumming him out of the attack.  He was killed by a soldier *crippled* by traps, traps that I bought out of paranoia.  I tried to switch him out, too, encountering the bug.  I still feel bad about it though ):

Well, crap. Here's hoping that the save file is still playable and will remain crash free. Otherwise, we're going to have to fall back on Zangi's savefile. ... I hate bugs.

Warning!  Skipping time with L-D causes a crash with my posted save ):  I suggest the next person just use the previous save file and skip me for now, because I really can't play another turn today.
