Alright alright, settle down.  Let's not have too many personal attacks, let alone the spurious ones.  There's plenty of real political inference to go around to insult people with.  How about we all just watch Jon Stewart define satirism again and laugh together at people who apply the science of The Da Vinci Code to legislative theory.

Yeah, I know that'd be more appropriate in the other political thread about Glenn Beck specifically, but it's older and this is here.

Well, to be fair, anyone who has Glenn Beck as a hero should have their right to vote revoked, in any sane world.

Unfortunately, instead of doing penance and becoming sensible during their time in the desert, the GOP is reacting by turning into a bunch of whiny children and/or complete fucknuts who actually idolize Glenn Beck. GLENN BECK. I SHIT YOU NOT. He is a hero of the Teabaggers. GLENN BECK. Unreal.
"Who? Oh. I like Glenn Beck. Yeah, he's good."

I say again, Glen Beck makes piles of money scaring old people.  That's a respectable occupation.

I'd like him more if he did it on the streets with a gorilla mask, but beggars can't be choosers.

Have the guy in a gorilla mask deliver punched up news commentary while he does so, and I say you've got hit program on your hands.

See, the idea of Glenn Beck as pure entertainment I am OK with, and I'd like to think that all semi-intelligent people would see him as that, but there is actually a significant political movement that takes him seriously. This scares me more than bird flu, cockroaches and the thought of being old and fat, combined.

The majority of my coworkers would definitely fall in to this category. It's frustrating to reason with them, so I gave up long ago. From what I've seen, the common news source around here is primarily Fox News.

My parents used to say that Fox News was the only unbiased network.  They've gotten over that though, thankfully.  They're still pretty far right, farther right than me at least, but not too far.

He is a hero of the Teabaggers. GLENN BECK.
Wow!  You know that's not true, right?  Or do you fall on the total liberal side worshipping the ground Pelosi walks on and chanting Bob the Builder: "Yes We CAN!"

In reality, the Tea Parties were not started by Glenn Beck, were not started by Republicans and were not started by any company.  The Tea Parties were started by people fed up over the Federal Reserve and IRS.  If you are the one believing the propaganda that Glenn Beck is leading the Tea Parties you have fallen into the same trap you blame on them... trusting one side to give you the absolute truth.  In fact, Glenn Beck has been trying to push his asinine 9/12 project where he pushes his religion and he mildly supports the Tea Party movement hoping to get some of them on his side.  Sure, there may be some overlap... but let's not delude ourselves to the propaganda that the Tea Parties are a Republican or Glenn Beck idea.

And great show of childishness in calling them Tea Baggers.

(edit: on the idea of what Fox News brings to the Tea Party movement... I'm actually surprised how little coverage they give it considering the amount of work they do... the Conservative and Liberal side seem to both veil their actions a little.  Fox news might cover them more than other media, but I feel it's more of the same thing that Glenn does... to get viewers.)

Yeah, that's why Fox News has flagrantly misrepresented attendance at those events on more than one occasion, eh?

I've seen a lot of footage from the Tea Party movements and I must say that I'm not exactly impressed. Far too many "Obama is a socialist Muslim WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE" type conspiracy theorist wingnuts for my tastes.

Wow, thanks for the strawman.

Now to make you feel salty - I said that Glenn Beck is a hero of the Teabaggers BECAUSE HE IS. He (and SARAH FUCKING PALIN) were KEYNOTE SPEAKERS at the TEABAGGER CONVENTION. You think I'm making shit up or something?
