Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

AFAIK there is only Myst to Myst V - End of Ages.
For soundtrack purposes, URU certainly counts.

Sabaton is incredibly epic.
Probably more-so if you watch the videos.
Also, while not quite as epic, this gem is amazing.

2112 by Rush fits the traditional definition of "epic". It tells a story about a post-human race that finds music. 20 minutes of epic guitar and high pitched lyrics.

Lyrics start at 4:20.
