I've just taken control of the United Earth Government. Havn't a clue what my predecessor has done. It seems the previous administration has not given their report as of yet.
Decided to make the Cargo Mk1 obsolete, seeing as we have the Mule Freighter 1. ... The speed of our civilian ships are abyssmal. I must do something to remedy that. Time waits not for humanity.
1st order of business is to assign the 5 available labs to Curtis Tenbrink for the research of Stellarator Fusion Reactor Technology.
Our supply of Duranium and Mercassium are low. Expansion of mining capability is a must.
Construction of the Gaia Terraformers 005 and 006 has been stopped indefinitely.

It seems I've overlooked the report on one of the Hawking 002's destruction. Knight Nadia Vorontsov and her surviving crew were found dead by a civilian ship long after life support ran out.
Review of the other Hawking ships shows that 001 requires repairs. I'll decommission these ships, we have no need of them nor do we have the facilities to maintain them.

Research for colonization has been completed, freeing 10 labs. I immediately put Jan Karney as head of 5 labs to research increasing the power output of our engines by 5%.
The other 5 labs have been placed under Curtis Tenbrink's research on Stallarator Fusion Reactor Tech.

It seems its the end for me...
What surprises me is that I have not yet encountered anything other then 4 delerict ships. But then, I have not combed the systems with active sensors....
In closing...
Research into the targeting system and gauss technology has gone relatively well. I believe I've made decent headway into the development of military and engine technology. But may have been a little week with acquiring resources.
A new colony has been set up in Temple Cloud, Moon 6. Just need to move some people there.
