Congratulations on purchasing 'My First Grimoire'! Contained inside this book is a step-by-step guide to resurrecting corpses and binding flesh-slaves! We will also touch upon the subject of apotheosis - a subject familiar to the Oros Cult. Hemomancy is dangerous, but the rewards are great. How is being able to strip life from a victim, or restore it to one who died too early? Don't forget, hemomancy works well in conjunction with the Arts of Alc- [The rest of the page is stained with some maroon substance]
You open the book at random and start to decifer the occult drawings. This could take a while.
A scream makes you glance up - the knight was stabbed in the small of his neck - only protected by thin padded leather. He jerks around a bit and dies. The bald cultist pulls out a ceremonial dagger and hacks the man's head off. The other cultist has retreated away, no doubt doing the same with the corpses who still had their heads - including many of the dead-cultists.
The bald-headed man notices you for the first time. He glances at you, brows contorted in confusion, then shrugs it off. He approaches you and says,
"Oskur, what are you doing with your robes off? Where are they? And now is not the time to be indulging in our Spoils, nor is it time to be studying your grimoire. We have the last of the Spoils to gather... Hopefully we can make something of this mishap." He spits on the dusty ground.
"Go find your robes and pile the bodies in the square. I don't want any trace of our presence to remain - let the Folk put this down to a bandit attack."
He walks off, mumbling to himself. He pauses by the man in red armor and kicks him into a nearby fire. You are left alone for a moment, surrounded by corpses and cannabalistic cultists. Not a good position. Also, you begin to wonder - Why did he confuse me with 'Oskur'? Who or whatever that is... and, what should I do now?
