My noble likes what now?
« on: March 20, 2010, 12:08:50 am »

So my first noble ever just showed up, and its a Dungeon Master. I decide to look at her thoughts and preferences, and I'm greeted with this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

She likes... frog demons. For their impressive bellies.

Do I even want to know ???

I think this is where the DF-players-are-Hitler jokes go from being just jokes to still jokes but lose some of their irony.

Still. Someone has to open up a chain of McUrist's sooner or later.

actually this is pretty standard for Dungeon masters: they like fat loot and evil critters

Dammit, Ocho, now someone has to draw that.

OT, dwarves can like justabout anything. Even tentacle demons (for their corrupt intentions) or elves.

Some nobles also like adamantine. And they will mandate it, even if there is no HFS on the map and there is no way to get some.

I don't think I've ever seen a dwarf that liked goblins.

And congratulations on your first noble, the dungeonmaster is the only one that's actually useful. (Unless you count the philosopher as dedicated lever-puller). Since it's your first, I suggest you look at what she's wearing, dungeon masters have been known to go around wearing nothing but cloaks.

For the mental image of a dwarf with no pants at all, it can be safe for work, I imagine them wrapped around the dwarf like a toga with multiple parts.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)

Is the weird thing here really the frog demons? I mean that is pretty much a list of the most valuable things in the game, united in one mandate-issuing noble. Even for a DM, that's toeing the line.

Dungeon masters don't make mandates.

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

I still love my female dwarves that love "hugging clowns" for their "corrupt intentions".

I named my first one "Kiki", after the character from Ghastly's Ghastly Comic. (warning: It's a webcomic where a "hugging clown" is the most moral and sexually normal entity there.  I'm not linking to it for NSFW reasons. (not really graphically explicit, but the whole thing is a comic about sex and fetishes) You can probably use Google.)

I can't help but imagine that, had I "hugging clowns", she would rush into their... "hugging appendages" with a look of raw... corrupt intentions on her face, only to have the "hugging clowns" scream in fear, and rip her apart trying to keep her from "making unwanted hugs" upon them.
