Cheap dwarfish humor
« on: March 19, 2010, 10:43:57 pm »

Due to my strict adherence to Law, I need to know if there's a way to deny access to certain stockpiles for certain dwarfish professions.

For you see, I stoutly refuse to serve alcohol to miners.

Feel free to toss your cheap one-off dwarfish humor into this thread.

This thread is confusing.
He asks a question which seems like one, but he hints to it being humor.
Someone want to tell me what the joke was?

It's a pun. Minors/Miners. The use of stoutly threw me off, I was looking for the joke in that.

Augh.

I like that I'm more offended by puns than I am by discussion of the capture, enslavement and systematic culling of mermaids for fun and profit.

I was originally just going to voice my support for that fantastically bad pun, but I couldn't think of any suitably bad jokes to go along with the post.

Can't say I found it too difficult to pick out though...  Maybe I'm just naturally attuned to jokes like this.

Man, that's a scary thought.

My funny bone doesn't tune to the playing with words sadly...

Alas, while the pun was good, I've got nothing funny to say for it. Maybe later.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

OH WOW.

Now that I actually get the joke, that's actually pretty funny! I feel dumb now.

I once embarked with only seven steel battle axes, then told my miner to take his pick.

What do you call a dwarf with no arms and no legs in the barracks?
Dabbling axedwarf.

Is this going to turn into another one of those dwarven pick-up line threads?

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.
