Help me find info on 3d utilities
« on: March 19, 2010, 09:25:35 pm »

I know that 3dwarf is pretty much *the* 3d viewer, but are there any other good ones out there?

How about ones that include 3d models of dwarves?

I ask this because I was thinking of doing exactly this, but since I'm not a good 3d artist, I want to base myself on something that already exists, if possible.  I suspect this hasn't been done yet but you never know.

Actually last I checked 3Dwarf was pretty old.   There is also Visual Fortress  Which is one of the ones I use.  But it does not render residents.

As an aside, there is also Stonesense but it is sprite based instead of 3D.  But this one renders almost everything, workshops, animals, residents, just about everything.  Its the one I usually prefer to use.  My avatar is actually an edit of a stonesense spriteset I made.
