You're probably about there actually, I just need to find an ankle pouch... which isn't easy.

EDIT: Incidentally if anyone has the skills but not the xp to gain a rank, I can try to lend a hand.

Looks like you could actually establish a fortress if you make a faction.

When has that ever stopped us from trying?

Besides we can make it underground, full of treasure, and it will have power granting statues. In addition we'll be recruiting guards for it to prevent people from robbing us.

Probably a secret, as I've found that secret locations are hinted at in room descriptions but not displayed on the prompt. Have you never seen a sewer grate while strolling the city?

secret, there's lots and lots of them around there's also some areas where an unobvious exit can be opened by moving something, or opening something... also have seen what's in that street? It's fun to go take a look, though it can prove expensive.

Yeah there are a fair number of hinted at exits and some that there's absolutely no way of knowing they're there short of having someone tell you. The second kind bother me a little bit  :-\. Not too many of those though. That I've found. Which is of course the point.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

For a few of those there are actually npc's that will tell you they're there. Otherwise you have to go by intuition or trial/error.

It looks like a fun game from the way you describe it. I've been trying to get in to it the last couple of days, but sadly MUDs like this confuse the shit out of me. I'm a rank 2 brawler at the moment, and Peripheral is my name  :).

Well the game shouldn't let you get stuck anywhere if you know the way out, most doors that have locks unlock from the inside.

I'll jump in on this - but after the awesomeness of having a real life group to run with (Including my at the time girlfriend) in game, MUDs lost a lot of their luster when it became just me and people I knew online again.

Stupid new games drawing them away... :(

Anyways, I'm in the game. Character's name is Gem.
