 :o :'(
That's exactly my meaning of ease... Hundred thousand. I guess, if movie budgets count in tens of millions, that's to be expected. Oh, well. Thanks, going to work on my musical education.

Screenwriters don't make the music for their movie.  Composers and all that nonsense do.

First, one of my ambitions is to be a rock-guitarist. Second, I like DIY. Third, I have trouble socializing. And fourth, I would never let a child of love be mutilated by studio financial interests. Even if the end result's popularity is greater than what the exact application of the script would have been. So, I don't think this movie is getting a professional composer.

If the studio offered something decent, I would put the editing knife to whatever I've written myself... :(

Only a day to go now!

I hope nobody has started yet, that would be cheating  ;)

I'm especially glad to see some people aren't even starting to work out the plot and everything prior to tomorrow. This is going to be interesting.

I do hope we get some finished work out of this. Ah whatever, even some semi-finished work will be entertaining.

ON YOUR MARKS .....

I have little preperation, besides some crazy ideas and character names. Basically, I have a bunch of disconnected scenes in my head. But I've convinced myself that this is going to be fun

I'm probably going to look like an asshole, but I want to do it before everyone else starts (or the majority), so I may get some feedback. Plus, it may cheer someone up, or put into the right mood.
As I was in the hurry to finish it before the start line, it hasn't received any polish, and you can see how a first draft can look.
So, without anymore dragging, Othor Origins, part one. It's Scribd. I didn't get any better ideas. I hope, someone will still be able to view it. Also, it's the first part of the script that I intend to write, but has a finished storyline for the purposes of this script.
So, I wish you many funny moments at inappropriate times while reading it.
P.S. I've noticed that Celtx gives you two options for format (one is printing from the file menu, the other is printing from the TypeSet page), and somehow one turns out shorter than the other. Maybe only in my version, but it'd be good, if Dasleah was able to comment on whether my format is right.

Edited: in case someone is confused, I started about a week ago.

feedback.

The dialogue seems... off. I think it's too modern or something. Feels out of place. If you had good actors reading it, I think it'd sound good... but in the script it doesn't feel right. Also, at the end of page 5, the sentence "Now, adventurers on His majesty's service, they get into trouble" doesn't quite make sense to me. What is he saying? Also, shouldn't it be HER majesty's service?

WHY DID YOU HAVE ME KICK THEM WTF I DID NOT WANT TO BE SHOT AT.
I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

IT HAS BEEN SSSSSSSSSSCRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIPT FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENZY FOR 8 HOURS AND 14 MINUTES HERE

And it's unlikely that I'll get anything done today  :-\ Unless resume writing counts as scriptwriting? Which it doesn't. Not really the kind of writing I wanted to start SF off with, but that's the life of a contractor I suppose. I did get a few more scenes plotted out last night, so at least this morning I'm in a better position than I was this time yesterday, so that counts for something.

And Supermikhail, the format looks right to me. I suspect what's changing between the two options is the print margins. I can't off the top of my head remember what the correct page margins for scripts are (3cm? 2.5cm?) but as long as it's around that ballpark and Courier 10 then it shouldn't make a huge difference overall.

Can't comment too much on the content right now, but first impressions are VOICEOVERS AND OFFSCREEN DIALOGUE IS EEEEEVIIILLLLLL. Seriously, you have characters talking before we even physically see them, which is just going to confuse people and is not going to allow us to connect with a character. It's introducing ambiguity, and that's the last thing you need on page one of your script. If the first question your audience asks is "Wait, so who's talking?" then it's not a great beat to start with.

But anyway

Don't forget to keep me updated on your page counts so I can update your totals in the first post.
