Run with it, lordnin.  Seems to me our game's been on hold until you could be given your turn back!

As to Minecraft, I don't know much about the game, but maybe it knows much about me... err?  Dunno.

Welcome back, mathlc!  So glad to hear from you  :D

Yes, you can still have your turn, but it's not the same turn as it was.  You were moved to 'floating', meaning if you let us know you still wanted to play and were here again, we move you to the next spot and shift everyone back a turn - they would have waited for your turn to finish anyway.

So, lordnincompoop is currently (right, lordnin?) playing through and preparing his updates for our totally update starved thread (right, lordnin?).  And if lordnin hasn't actually started yet, perhaps he'll want to let you start this turn instead.  But it's been a couple of days now into lordnin's turn, so I'd bet that he's already started play.

So keep watching, mathlc, and really glad you're back with us!  A lost player returned   8)  lordnin's time should end within 1 week (or barely more than a week if he's almost done), so keep checking to see if it's your turn, thanks!

Updated turn list:

lordnincompoop - Year 207 -current-

mathlc - Year 208 -pending-
Grimlocke - Year 209 -pending-
Burnt Pies - Year 210 -pending-
Jordrake - Year 211 -pending-

Floating (where are you guys?!)

welcome in, oidip, and glad to have you!  Your year will be 212, baring surprise drop outs or the return of a lost 'floating' player.  Be sure to check the thread at least once a week, especially as your turn nears  8)

Woo, lordnin!  This poor thread's story hasn't had a real update since your last turn  :P

((Retcon'd the caravan trip and death))

The fortress framework is finally complete, and work on a new dining room has begun. The miners are digging much quicker now, probably because they're fed up with having to stand and eat. It only too a few eeks before they were all mined out, and they now await stone removal.

Spoiler: Dining Rooms (click to show/hide)

Migrants recently arrived in a caravan. They were on the whole quite enthusiastic about their new home, if a bit unnerved by the corpses littering the streets. I'll have to do something about that soon. A hunter got possessed by spirits unknown, and has begun work on an artifact. I am still worried about the benevolence of this unknown force.

Spoiler: Possession (click to show/hide)

The mayor seems happy with the ☼sun berry ice-cream☼ that we imported from the elves at his request, and although it is very distasteful (that damn elf-sympathiser) it keeps him placated at least.

Now that's what I call a dining room!
My normal style of fortress planning is to keep the rooms small, just big enough to serve their purpose. I like to conserve space and utilise every nook and cranny.

Also, if anyone cares, the living spaces have a planned capacity of around 1000 dwarves.

Just wondering, is Mayday grpahics pack alowed?
I'm sure it was mentioned some where here but i can't find it again.
I know it makes some saves glitch up so if not is there a better one to use?

It is required. Pretty much the only thing this save allows, really.

And puny siege is puny.

Urgh, imbeciles!

All these morons are just moping about among the corpses, complaining about how there is nothing to drink! Well, off course there is nothing to drink; you aren't making any, you lazy-ass brewers! Nor are any of you farmers doing anything!

And of course you're all upset - you refuse to bury the corpses and prefer sitting in a festering pit of death instead of the clean meeting halls!

Some dwarves got so upset they just went destroying everything - even killing some. We had to put the madmen down. They... I- GRAH! There is no word to describe my frustration!

Sometimes, I feel as it marrying our cousins isn't such a bright idea after all.

More depravity.

I finally found out where some of the corpses went - Some dwarves had claimed these corpses and brought them home, doing who-knows-what with them. Among these perpetrators is an elderly couple consisting of a Woodworker and a Carpenter. The relatives of these unlucky dead have requested the corpses back, but the "owners" refuse to return them, claiming that they have "needs". What should I tell them? "Oh sorry, You can't get them back because some grey-bearded perverts are humping them as we speak"?

I can't believe this.
