the next player made referance to my efforts there ;p
That would be me :P

And yeah, they are still there, along with many many more completely random furniture stockpiles, and a rediculously large animal stockpile (???). Most of the dwarves were just wasting time hauling things around. Started with removing the stockpiles, ordered most of the bedrooms to have doors, and started building a proper dining room (the current one is one giant room with some default quality stone tables and chairs looking rather lost in the middle of it).

Also someone dumped a huge pile of rubbish on the D, hahah. I might remove that if I feel generous.

About the ramdon stockpiles, that was my fault...every workshop was CLR and with a fuckton of doors and things.I just raged and put random stockpiles for the furniture lol

about the garbage dump on the D...that wasn't my fault lol

Ps:Dinning room????? where?

see thats what i dont get.  what/where is the print screen button?

Sometimes it's not spelled out fully, on my keyboard it's labeled Prt Scr/SysRq.

Most keyboards have it along the top row of the keys, near where the function keys are (The F1, F2, and so on ones are).  Usually it's to the right side of the letters, and in between the letters and the number pad.  For me, it's part of a row of three keys, Prt Scr/SysRq, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break.  Below are the insert, home, page up and down keys.

Hope this helps!
So i found it where you said it was and I pressed it Annnnnnd... nothing happened.  I held shift and tried again and nothing happened.

What do?

Yep yep!

Print screen 'puts it in the computer's brain'.  So now it knows what was on your screen, and it's remembering it, ready to make it a picture when you press paste somewhere.  And this doesn't look like anything to you, there's nothing to see - which means you're doing it right.

But only a few programs can handle picture information.  So I recommend Paint, which is a free 'came with your computer' program that I think everyone has, and it is designed to work with pictures.

Each time you press print screen again, you are removing what was there before and giving the computer a new thing to remember.  If you 'copy' something, that's the same thing.  The computer remembers it in a place called 'the clipboard', but that clipboard by itself can only remember one thing at a time.  Other programs store more information or can work with several things at once, so you paste stuff into other programs and continue work there.

Heyas Grimlocke!  Am itching for an update, how's play going?

Edited to add my wishes and hopes for hearing from Grimlocke really soon!  This turn offically started on 7-4, and Grimlock noticed it was his turn on 7-6, so the end of the week is fuzzily happening.... already/really soon.  Of course you can have a couple more days if you're almost done.

We need to hear from you Grim!  I'm going to cry tears of Blood for the Bloodgod if I have to pass this turn on to our next player, Burnt Pies, without you having finished it.  Burnt can have his own turn, 209's been happy waiting for him!

Burnt Pies, hopefully you're checking in daily now, if you were not before.  If we don't hear from Grimlocke again by late on 7-13, turn will be passing to you.  If we do (sure hope we do!) it will still be your turn within a couple days.  Good luck to all!

Haha sorry to stress you Imp, I got caught up in a number of distractions and lazyness.

Ill just get to some narration for the first season (this one took a while due to having to make sense/get rid of the messyness). Decided to narrate from a uncommon perspective: A Baron! Yes, we got one during midspring. Early spring went pretty poorly managed anyway due to me just getting rid of stuff I didnt like :P

So without further ado, the story of Lokum Halldream.
Quote from: Overseers log, Mid spring, 208
This is Baron Lokum Halldream, I have been ordered by her Majesty to oversee the unfortunately named outpost of Spearbrain, turn the wretched grotto into an example of dwarven splendor! Truely an unexpected honour after last months... escapades.

And I must say my sending here has not been for nothing! Upon arriving me and my entourage were... less then impressed. That, and we were tripping over doors. Doors, coffins, doors, cages, doors and DOORS. The very word has began to sound foolish to me. And if only that was my only concern. The dwarves here are... strange. They mumble unintelligably, and quickly become silent upon seeing me. Some allmost reminding me of my unfortunate uncle Dastot... I am not sure if I should even mention the godawfull smell coming from the magma pipe, or the strangel yelping at night...

Well let us leave behind these negative thoughts, wipe the dust off this logbook, and ignore the peculiar stains! (surely they are but wine...)

After finishing assesement of our situation we have set to ordering cleaning of our the area within the fortress walls, some well overdue smoothing of rooms, and the abandoning of some cursed rooms filled only with doors and coffins. The melting of goblinoid armour was ordered, and a spended new dining room was commisioned!

Still, I should write her Majesty about the current state of affairs...
Quote from: Overseers log, Late spring, 208
I have received a reply to my letter to her Majesty, and included it in these logs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Morul Kubuklikot, local leader of the mountainhomes,
To Baron Lokum Halldream:

I reply in the name of Her Majesty to the letter sent. We are well aware of the situation in Spearbrain.

You are there to solve it, not to complain of it.

As additional motivation, you are promoted to the status of Count.

We expect you to perform accordingly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(out of character) The baron and 'entourage' are you usual set of landholder + spous + hammerer + tax collector. His only character trait is liking to help others, and his likes for materials and such are nothing extordinary (sterling silver, diorite, etc). I try to make him appear somewhat pompous and naive. I will write more once I got some more playing done, and I will need some more days to finish this properly. In the mean time, have some appitizing screenshots!
EDIT: yes he realy did become a Count. I suppose we racked up a lot of fortress value with all the silly artifacts.

Ahhh!  Grim, you've grimly restored my faith and hope.  Thank you!

Your poor fps.  So many critters dead to the heat... you're having a barbeque?   :o  Hope someone brought some drinks...  8)  And yes, surely that's wine  :-X

Heh, doesn't sound like a place I wanna go and live at.

Are the animals dying in the heat from... heat, or from some magma accident?

What month have you reached in your turn, Grim?

This is day 10 of your turn.  If you are not very close to finished by this point (done by this time tommorow at the latest), we probably should look at turning the turn over to Burnt Pies.

In Kamudo's most sacred original rules, an unfinished turn means that turn never happened.  I made an exception to that once, taking lordnincompoop's 7.5 months done turn instead of passing the previous save to the next player.  My reasons were a)  From his updates, I was really convinced that he accomplished Great Things(tm) during that partial turn which were going to improve the military safety and organization of the fort for many turns to come, and b)  No one stopped me.

What do you say, Grimlocke?  Is it time to follow the holy word of Kamudo, and pass the start of year 208 on to Burnt Pies, or do we follow our other sacrosanct choice and pass on your finished turn within a day?  Or, do you want to attempt to make a case for passing your unfinished year on?  I'd rather not continue that precedent, to be honest - but my mind's not totally closed against it.

Chances that ill finish by today is... slim at best. Currentely at mid autumn. Of course I do want to finish the game, but my oppinion is biased ;)

I say its your call, as you have pretty much been the game master for this thing. No hard feelings if you want to pass on this turn.

I do recommend not being too strict about these things, here and in the future. We are low enough on active players as it is, and guillotining everything that passes the 10 day mark will only make the years take a lot longer and the players fewer.

7.5 months is way too far past the mark though hehe.

I say go ahead and let Grim finish. If he's at mid autumn, he can finish his turn up, no worry.
