Harhar, seems that spearbrain is doomed to not have a proper military.

Alright!  Well played, Jordrake, and an enjoyable read  :D

It be Grimsledge's turn, he was last active on the 19th.  I sent him a PM right before posting this, hopefully play will continue shortly!

Seems that both Kamudo and Lucied have become less and less active, but this game is definately alive.  Kamudo 'kinda' placed the game in my hands, but I dont have control of the first post to update turns/progression.  Our active players and players-to-be are the most important people in this methinks, so lets keep this game alive as best we can even without active updating of the first post   ???

Here's our turns, including everyone who has asked for a turn since Kamudo stopped updating -

The Players involved:
Kamudo - Year 201 -FINISHED-
Lucied - Year 202 -FINISHED-
Imp - Year 203 -FINISHED-
Darkrider2 - Year 204 -FINISHED-
Grimlocke - Year 205 -FINISHED-
Jordrake - Year 206 -FINISHED-
Grimsledge - Year 207 -Current-
Slayer - Year 208 -pending-
Huggz - Year 209 -pending-
lordnincompoop - Year 210 -pending-
Matuin - Year 211 -pending-

Good luck to everyone, lets keep up the fun play and the neat writing!

Okay guys, sooo sorry.

I've been busy with life and such.

I updated the first page, everybody who wanted to join, has been accepted.

As for Lucied, he's got a job now, so he doesn't have a lot of time.

I'll read through what I missed, granted I've got the time today. But yeah, thanks for Keeping my Spearbrain alive. ^^

Ah, Hello, Im still here.

Great work with the fort so far, and I do believe that magma will/not be touched.

I guess that I will try to strengthen the military, although Im pretty busy moving at the moment.

Other then that, I guess that I can begin very shortly... after some sleep.

Good luck. The state I left the place in, you'll be overrun if goblins come before summer.
Looking forward to your inevitable ruin due to my lack of competence and foresight.

1st of Granite, year 206

As I gaze upon the ramparts of this... Spearbrain... The first thought that entered my brain was almost a spear. How apt. Apparently the ruler of this place thought it a grand idea to fire a ballistae at no particular target. In any case, I now have the journel: It will be I who decides the fate of this fortress, at least for the coming year. (And the first thing I'm to do is order a new bedroom, for myself and the others who are sitting around with not even a bed to lie in. My plans involve many blocks.. which there are none of. Easy enough to obtain. These reforms include:

Housing
Housing
Block making
Armaments
Armaments
Armor
And Soldiers. Theyre second on the list.

11th of Granite

The Elven Kingdom of Icemi Fisu deigned it neccesary to send a represenative along with a caravan of goods. Shame that they will probobly be useless. I set about constructing some rooms in the upper area, next to the dinning room / storage space. What is up with that room?! everyone except 10 dwarves are lying out here with nothing, sleeping on the tables we'll soon be supping upon!

19th of Granite: A goblin snatcher appeared; one of the war dogs scare him away. Hopefully, for good.

21st of Granite: Some mechanic i've never heard of, Mosus Rifoterush, died of thirst, or so im told. he seems to have loved miasma: kinda glad the freak is gone, if I may say so myself.

25th of Granite: Ambush. By goblins. How typical.

27th of Granite: I am the humble scribe, Thyrfing Blosbane. I Have been instructed by my consul, the late Grimsledge, to carry out his will. He died a valiant death, charging a group of Goblin scirmishers, enabling one of the recruit's to escape to saftey. We now hold out within the walls, while a undertrained malitia tries to hold off the Goblin warband.

2nd of Slate: The Goblin attack has come to a close, as the town malitia managed to drive them all off. Amidst the chaos, a weary band of travelers has arrived, to ssist the town. They were promptly drafted into the malitia, given equipment, and sent to the barracks.

===========================================================================================================================

I can't believe I died! This really sucks, but i'm gonna continue as Thyrfing. That marksdwarf I saved actually turned the tides, though. I actually could use some help with getting around the military; this is actually the furthest I've played. never had to deal with this many dwarves or military before. And again, sorry for taking so long.

*offers much comfort*

So sorry your narrator died!  As far as military help goes, I'm probably not the best one to offer that, but I kinda recommend traps.  Cage traps can catch just about anything, and what they cannot catch, if you can force the enemy to walk over a path rigged with spike traps, all hooked to a lever and with some dwarf pulling that lever on repeat at a mad rate, the enemy will probably all die, or be so weakened they are pretty easy to finish off.

Good luck, you're doing good!  Doesn't matter what happens in our story, least I don't think it matters, what matters is that the game goes on and we have fun with it.

Kk Slayer, sorry to lose ya.  Next up will be Huggz then, but not yet!  The drama unfolding is still in Grimsledge's bloody beard... err, hands!
