Of items earned through valor, Imush takes the -bronze cap- and the spool of rope reed thread from cyclops Onget Zephyrgranite the Brown Justice's treasure trove.
He tries on the -bronze cap-. Because he's an ascetic with end range austerity, but is one notch of three (first degree not cheerful: "is rarely happy or enthusiastic") from being a full blown Rei Ayanami, the cap's quality modifier only makes him feel slightly weird. That gets balanced out with a visit to a waterfall.
A talk with a tavern keeper at a forest retreat leads Imush south…

...to the lair of the giant Rino Nutshale the Saffron of Goals.
As with the cyclops Onget Zephyrgranite, Imush sneaks toward the lair intending to shoot to ground from 1 z-level up, if Rino is close to the lair's entrance.

Nope. He's at the opposite end.

Mechanicallly, DF lets you fire a bow while prone, but Imush does the roleplay thing and stands to shoot, giving up
Best Possible visual stealth. It doesn't really matter, despite being under the 20 tile
viewrange, because giants have 2-4 tile low light vision.
2 RNG shots and Rino is down.

And just gamey game after the shot, but before closing distance, Imush reads
cheezes to hit
Focused! to buff all his rolls. No different than with Onget, Imush works the lower body to get the nausea penalty so he can safely enter the
recovery combat cycle and train shield user as an outsider peasant who only has dabbling vs no skill Rino's roll-to-hit.

He continues melee to either out-cardio Rino (causing collapse due to over-exertion) or strike a RNG spear stab (to head, upper body or throat for major artery rupture).

In many ways melee can be as arbitrary as ranged combat: RNG killshot, bleedout by volume, suffocation due to lung/spine dmg.
Once Rino's exhausted, it ends with a strangle.

So Imush has gone Beowulf and become a monster hunter. While he has zero ambition and no need for excitement, he is duty driven, so at least RP character-wise, semimega slaying makes sense.
