If you make some hearthpeople, then pass the position to someone else, and get the kids adopted they should stay, yeah.

I didn't realize you could find prisoners outside of a dark fortress. Had they not had time to leave after a site take-over or something?

I assume it's a potential consequence of goblins taking over. It could be that "didn't leave" thing, but it's also possible that future kidnapped children were taken there instead.

Well, this is a new thing...

Yes, that's a temple with magma instead of water. Never seen this before.

I threw the local criminal warlords head into the pool.

I've heard those exist for quite some time, but I've only ever seen the version with water.

I remember losing an adventurer to one of those after I nose-dived into it from the open roof of the temple, thinking it was water below. Was not one of the best ways to die.

their not prisoners more so peasants who are being invaded.  the goblins seem to not instantly talk about the army marching into town until I brought it up which lead them being shocked and wanting rescue.
oh uhh kinda had a save where a kid got stab by everyone in the party because the child dodge slam into another rescued peasant and the knifes started coming out.
retired my bird adventurer after getting 2 kills both by strangulation as trying to hack the heads off a giant and lion was too hard than just getting them to overexert themselves and just choking them out.

I've just made a no-DFhack character in 0.43.03. I miss reveal already.

His name is Ilral Ironshield the Turquoise Distance of Excavating. He doesn't have an iron shield yet. He's also a dwarven human. His ultimate goal is to bind a cute lizard demon master to him. She undulates rhythmically. ;D

What? Is that when a dwarf and a human get together and, erm, snuggle a bit too closely?

I sure could go for some of that right about now. *sigh*.

Only out of frustration, mind; I've been trying to find this criminal group in a large town (the same town as the magma temple) called the "Embraced Cream". Turns out this city seems to have atleast 2 other criminal groups - one is called "The Mastery of Boats" and it's the one whose warlord I killed and whose head I offered as a sacrifice to Armok the All-father, the other is called "The Defective Trumpet" *snicker* and they are situated in the catacombs, on top of not actually giving the "I have nothing for you" dialogue when my character spoke to some of them (which made me confused...so are they criminals or not? Legends viewer says they're the primary criminal organization here), it appears that killing some of them actually completed the quest I was assigned. My mind is boggled.

Turns out chopped off animal heads, limbs and some more heads that are all zombified can somehow pass off as a worker.. uhhh, sure. o_O Did save me the trouble of finding complete bodies and had a total of 16 workers (including my ischroboar male adventurer), most of them were heads of various kinds along with 3-4 headless bandit bodies some missing their limbs, "Tis' but a flesh wound!" comes to mind along with an image from an old game.

In about 80-90 or so ingame hours my large version of the same building style/structure was complete with all of the doors and a hatch along with most of the other furniture being mastercrafts and all that from my custom and altered two new non-rotting wood types, furniture and doors are made from spore tree alternative (Zilir spore tree) and the structure itself is colored green and is made from a mushroom tree that I named Zilir-cap. After the building was completed I put my workers to rest and put all of their their bodies/body bits in a special casket in my building.

I also before I went to find a site to build my thing I stumbled upon an ant woman blowgunner at my starting bandit camp (where all my corpse collection was/is) who ended up being my minion companion of sorts, someone's gotta run the tavern after all and since she lacked a name I gave her a nickname 'Zerr'. First natural animal person I've found and gotten to join.

I've had a guy with both of his arms missing counted as a worker. Nothing strange.

Heh, I can imagine the looks on Draenei npcs (or npcs from any good civ for that matter) who could've passed by my area and going "What is that reddish boar looking beast person doing on top of that unfinished solid plant material resembling buildi- wait are those bir- BY NAARU! WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS FLOATING ABOUT AND HAULING PLANT LOGS!?! WE MUST WITHDRAW! AHHHHH! GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FLYING DINGO HEAD! THE HORROR! THE HORROR!"

That can only end in death by venomous snu-snu, clearly.

No, it's when a human grows up in a dwarven fortress.

In other news, I've liberated a fortress from the goblins! That's like my second-favorite thing to do! And I had my leg broken in three places by lashers and I didn't pass out! This is great! And I got an iron shield and some iron armor from a tomb! Now I'm fighting an ettin.

She breathes fire, so I'm going to get my geldables burned off instead.

Pancaked pelvis along with everything else crushed comes to my mind. It is terrifying... o_o
