I just conquered the vault, it was easy. I got a <<*crescent pale metal halberd*>> out of the deal. It's amazing, like if a sword were an axe. I didn't know halberds were this good! So I made the five-day trek to the demon's dark fortress in two days, because I'm a vampire and don't sleep. You guys remember the old bug that let you travel through dark fortresses from the west side? Now it works from the north. I found it out on accident.

The demon's true name was Rustu.

Not only did she put her true name in her new name, I'm going to call her Rusty now! Time to get out of here and storm the other vault!

"The elf is impaled on the dragon."

Meanwhile, I have brewed booze. Turns out only two of the types of plant I procured could be brewed. ;w;

Wait... So you can build workshops and brew booze now? Does this mean you can also cook?

Workshops, only one so far. Brewing, only in mods. Cooking, hell no because prepared meals bork.

Recently finished building my Adv site's tower, all that's left now is collecting this worlds various Slabs in case anyone wants to do some casual reading. I figure I'll have my Dwarf Swordsman spend time writing his autobiography if he actually survives all the different towers he's going to have to visit. And I'm not reading any of the secrets or getting vamped to do it, so it should be interesting.

What workshop?

Just the carpenter's workshop so far. Meanwhile...

I've made a decent little enclave thus far, The Bastion of Wine.

Spoiler: screenshot (click to show/hide)

I have a tavern with 10 dining chairs+tables, a 5x5 dance hall, cabinets for mugs/instruments, and 10 2x2 rooms each with a bed and cabinet. I also have 17 3x3 bedrooms in two buildings, one of which (the one with 6 bedrooms) is two stories tall. These each have a bed, cabinet, table, and chair. They're all individually assigned to my five former companions and my current party of a dozen drunks. Then there's the workshop and a simple shrine, dedicated to no deity in particular.

Finally my personal tower. The main hall has just some storage cabinets, while above it is the bedroom and library, which I'll eventually fill with...something. Finally above is a simple third floor with fortifications, which I might make a temple dedicated to my character's deity.

-snip-

Looks neat! Definitely have to add those 2x2 rooms along with doors somewhere. What I have in mind should resemble a barbaric wooden wide tower-ish building. Will have to see what I can actually pull off as right now I'm about to find out if I can claim that camp or not if not then I'll just have to kill that leader and usurp my ischronite fist on that place and once the buildings done I'm thinking of retiring her for a bit after taking care of the demon to re-create Kothir for her to try to cure some of her evil ways and show/teach all of the dance forms and whatnot (from the civ the camp is nearby) to her so she'd feel more at peace.

EDIT: Seems I need to sort out a riff-raff npc as there's a dwarf still in the camp or around the area who made a second attempt at attacking me.

I am leaving a necromancer's tower, sleep, the boogeymen show up and all the zombies start running out the door and mauling the boogeymen. Right now, the zombies are failing to climb up the tower.

So, now I have a moat filled with magma AND patrolled by ghosts. It is quite nice actually.

I conquered the second vault. Everyone was made of ash. Orgu was wrecking shit with her iron two-handed sword, which she holds in one hand. This is one moment I'm particularly proud of.

I really like biting.

...

Here are my bitches.

They are fighting.

I went to an elven forest retreat and they got caught in a loyalty cascade. Eventually Orgu won, but not without losing all her teeth and functional limbs. This really sucks. I think I'll go back to 0.40 for a while and rescue some children.

Claiming a bandit camp, or one built yourself? As it seems that to claim your site you need to designate a zone, assign it a location as a main hall, then claim it via yelling aloud like a crazy person. I think naming the camp might also be needed.

Bleh, seems I need to just create my own site anyway.

It is glorious.

And...now that's 4 of my precious dwarves crippled. I'm torn between letting them retire in my camp, versus keeping them on until someone dies, at which point I'll bring the body back to place in the coffins I'm building.

Flame, before you go back to 40, would you try a rescue in this version?

The kids actually respond and let you rescue them, but I'm curious if you will get the whole "child, it's you, give me a hug" followed by shanking weirdness.

Fun fact: building a fan to expand the mist from a waterfall works fine!

Naturally the site is named Bloodmist. I had a vampire I accused and then wondered if I could recruit, so they were a handy helper given all the zombies around. I told them to go away afterwards. They can live for being helpful and a dwarf, unlike my prior elf workslaves I kicked into the volcano.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I really wish dorfs making towns was default, as they tend to be more willing to settle across partially evil sites than humans, so I could see if anybody else encountered the zombie merchant thing.
