Hoooly crap, now I gotta find a volcano in my world. Awesome idea for an evil villain adventurer site.
Unfortunately I was building at night and didn't check properly, it looked like it was subsurface building but it's just TO the surface building sadly. Still cool, but gotta wait for dfhack to build a wooden staircase down to hell.

Quote
I made use of the non-wood carpenter shop products method to kill the rot, went with green glass since it goes well with the glumprongs I suplexed (which, holy crap, so much freaking wood!) and now it's a matter of getting everything all assigned and zoned and whatnot.
What do you mean by this? Can you mod it so you can actually use stones or is this a vanilla thing?
Yeah, just have the carpenter shop reactions (which put the product_token:stuff in) spit out BED:NONE:INORGANIC:MARBLE or TABLE:NONE:GLASS_GREEN:NONE instead of getting mats from the log, you can't select those materials specifically but as long as you don't have other furniture around they will select the non-wood stuff for building happily.

Genned a world, eyeballing legends to plot my idea. A...snail man necromancer? Are you fucking serious?

Gonna ID whether either demon is still alive and in control of their civ, roll an adventurer, get stronk before becoming a vampire necromancer and seeing if I can...ahem, rehabilitate a demon.

I really now should start up an adventurer for the sake of making a demon build a home for wayward victims of goblins.

It'd be like the living anathema to the usual shit I get into in adventure mode.
My first world in 0.43 had two demons imprisoned by humans. I couldn't find either one. Reveal, I need you!

EDIT: Back in 0.42, I found a temple with a magma pit. I really wanted to fight someone next to it. So I threw a goblin in. Then I got caught in magma mist and died.

Has anyone tested yet whether raised zombies, rescued children, and refugees from a soon-to-be-invaded town can be put to work?
Yes on zombies, if Arena Mode is anything to go by (the map-loading bug can be bi-passed if you define your site before tree-felling.)

The good news is that there are two demons who seem to be alive. The bad news is I can only get a fix on one of the vaults thanks to those fucking kobolds, and it's the one for a sheep monster whose last event was leading an attack on some site. So the only one I'll have easy access to is the one that I dunno the vault location of.

Also? Milady is a magpie woman.

Yes, douse your flaming self with flammable booze.

Also, I'm sad that wild boar men aren't bigger than humans. ;w;

Look, when you're on fire and durable you start to think "ok, if I can get my gear off before it burns, I can save it AND keep it from killing me faster" and then you're like "hmmm, I've got some liquid... what the hell" ... then it evaporates immediately so you're like... "hmmm, maybe if I refill/dump it a few times it can help smother the flames?" and well... I am not a smart man.

My titan-slaying swordsman adventurer and his bloodthirsty fisherman companion (who likes stabbing people to death with his carving knife, even after I have him a high-quality maul to use) are building a FOB in the wilderness, from which to hunt more beasts!
They're helped by a couple of dwarves as well, but I don't like them much since they seem to be total cowards in a fight.

This is my first adventure mode structure. Exciting stuff.
Edit: My first adventurer in the new version, also. Usually I don't do this well on a demigod, let alone a mere hero start.
Glad I managed to find a companion who actually likes killing stuff, haha.

Add this?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Can't do math right now but one of the values should enlarge their default body size just so that they are bit bigger from humies.

Well, my project went along fairly nicely. Made a small house "cabin" near the top of a volcano, and a tavern on top of the volcano itself. Have two companions as my hearthpeople - what's strange is that an orc lasher was hanging around the area, just standing there and staring. He wasn't even hostile, just acting a bit creepy.

Of course, this is all just a ploy - my adventurer is a ritualist vampire magnataur (similar to a centaur, except with mammoth-like features instead of horse ones - much bigger too) who killed 40 criminals hiding in a town's dungeon (yes, there was basically a small army in the dungeon - 3 "groups" of various races - mostly centaurs and fel orcs, but also some kobolds), took some of their severed limbs and heads, and also a kobolds entire decapitated body along with the head, then threw them into the volcano as a sacrifice before creating the site. The elder of the town was also cursed and became a fallen pride - killed him too, and my adventurer took his severed hand as yet another sacrifice.

All of this made me think - what better disguise for a vampire than being the tavern keeper/lord of some remote "tourist" spot?

Retired him, gonna see how the history of the site goes after a few years of a fort.

Did the adventurer-site tavern actually work? And how did you pull it off?

Started playing adventure mode.
Before I started I was aware of some features in wrestling. But I didn't know about throwing your enemies. I think I have to try throwing goblins at other goblins and then using goblins body to beat remaining to death.

Also first impression - frail hayena takes more hits to kill then giant one (Giant one took three hits to the head, frail took 10, got its skull broken, was paralysed and was bleeding heavily from every artery you find in the head and neck)
