Ah, the pure derp that demon generation sometimes outputs... :V

Eh, it was really quite a bit of work to hack off the black-brute-lizard's head as all it needed was the attack option to the head in the green, was a normal strike though IIRC. Had to first hack of it's feet and only managed to hack off it's left hand this time around as I was too busy with its head and hands. Kept lashing most areas with the whip.

In one testing instance once it chipped my minothar's weaker bone of the skull at the time with it's sting attack and injected it's venom or whatever it killed my adventurer. Was a bit odd as the thing I'm playing as is immune to these things.

EDIT: Derped.

Hmm. You made sure to omit the "GENERAL_POISON" creature class?

Aye.

EDIT: Also.. DFhack, wow. :o I can finally spawn materials for crafting and uncraftable gauntlets, gloves, mittens I just spawn, neat.
Now I wanna test that force marriage/lover thing on my other adventurer. :D

EDIT2: YES!!! Found the right force-marry script and my two adventurers are now spouses to one another!

Genned a world filled with semi and megabeasts, been ripping apart ettins and minotaurs and cyclopses fairly well, and then I run into a hydra.  In past monster worlds Ive created, these things would tear me apart in less than three turns.  With my guy's legendary dodging, I was able to last quite a big longer.  I kept trying to scratch it, but my guy's hands could only tear the hydra's fat, at best, causing minimal bleed damage.  Eventually, it landed a hit on my guy's leg, severing a sensory nerve.  I immediately retreat, thinking, hell I've got a save scum file, I can just revert to that.

I somehow manage to dodge it enough to jump into a pool of murky water.  Fighting against drowning, I manage to get out, and the hydra's nowhere to be seen ( I think it followed me into the pool ).  I fast travel away, and my guy's healed.

I'm heading back to the hydra's lair, see if it's still alive.  I'll use my knife this time.

After traveling with swordswoman Xugot and swordsman Perom, it becames clear Xugot would be given The Empty Kingdom and Wavesides. Perom complains too often and is dejected often. Xugot is willing to be equal to the task. She stands for things. Perom is a handwringer.

Mafol lets everyone go their way and Xugot accepts the title of lady of Wavesides. The rest depart to their home hamlets.

Mafol makes the journey southeastward to a region of eyeballs and tendrils where he encounters Durad Beakmorning, a winged quadruped brush titan made of glass. Spit or bite? Can't remember which. It's just copper spear to the leg to bring it down, then a hack from the copper great axe, cutting away the lower body. It doesn't make much sense being made of glass, but then there's this field of tendrils and eyeballs.

Onward ever south into human held lands where Onu Canyonstrapped the Howl of Dunes the hill titan roams. Onu apparently eats people. Onu is a beetle with a nice hard shell and a meaty inside. Spit or bite? Can't remember which here as well. A bit of wrestling followed by copper spear to the leg to bring it down. But like Strobnod the axe to the thorax lays it low.

Back in the human town Goodcook, Mafol ragdolls Rith Wheelsoaked the consort of the night creature. It's good to know you can out grapple the converted spouses for kicks, even if it's a squash match.

Of course, at this middling point, I'm not keeping Mafol up with the bonuses from Focused! or Focused. It's just busy work for that kind of maintenance. I'm going to give the next Mafol or Bim or whatever dwarf named dorf the fewest needs next run. Or just not pay any attention and play with the penalties once the character becomes far too distracted.

Well, I have a new nemesis - Manex Liefiend the fallen pride.

I went to his labyrinth as a albatross man harpoon gunner and literally only got one shot in, before, well...

He then grabbed my hand and bent my wrist, knocking me unconscious, and then gored my head, collapsing it, but only after beating on me for a while and letting me burn. Guess he likes his meat extra crispy.

Gonna go to him with a bigger party and actually try to fight him seriously.

Ouch! What's a 'fallen pride'?

Anyhow I'm once again torn 50/50 about genning a new world. The thing is I just now figured I want to create my own customized mix between a greataxe and an halberd. Weapon I can hack and stab with like with a greatsword so basically an halberd with longer blade area and is not double edged (think Klingon Bat'leth but non-curved and with blade free area on the bottom similar to a sword). Creating the weapon and adding the reaction to make it should be fairly easy.

Plus I've begun to realize that I like my custom minotaur way more than my customized lynx man and since minotaurs are able to destroy buildings and adventurer minotaurs not. I'm thinking of resizing my minothar down to either 90,000 or 120,000-160,000 as right now its 500,000. Also.. I've said that the name 'minothar' is a WIP one, well. I still have no better name and since I like my hooved and horned demonic creatures ingame alot more than my pawed and clawed lynx men, am thinking of tossing lynx Drogoths into a safe scrap vault of mine (until I figure out how to add paws to standard creatures) and making minothars the new drogoths, leaving only minotaurian Drogoths and Kobolths.

Once all that's done and over with, I'm planning to gen a new world without dfhack and use dfhack once my two adventurers are created to buff everything up and make them married and then toss my save back to the DF install folder without dfhack as I need to use DFtool to alter inventory and quality of gear and items. So, yeahhh... that's pretty much what I've been thinking about for the past 6+ days now.

If I recall, paws rely on the bodyglass token. See in the tokens for cats, for example.

And as for a name, maybe..hmm. Tempted to suggest terastaur (Greek τέρας, meaning monster, plus the familiar ταῦρος or bull part of minotaur).

Though that's also a bit derpy in its own way. :V

Ouch! What's a 'fallen pride'?
It's a part of megabeasts that personify the Seven Deadly Sins - the fallen pride is basically a classical Devil as opposed to both the randomly-generated, bizarre appearances of the vanilla Demons, and also the more horrific, deformed appearances of the other personifications, though it's still not pretty by any means - it has an overall humanoid bat-like appearance, a royal-looking collar of fur around it's neck, glowing purple eyes, two horns, two wings and two wicked claws - and also access to some fire magic (functionally a regular fire jet and also fireballs that can hit up to two targets at once).

They also can take over civilizations in world-gen by fooling them into believing they are deities the civ worships, similarly to how demons do it, and also if you topple statues in temples there's a chance you'll be cursed to assume the form of one...which, if you do it in a town aside from the one you start in, it's gonna draw the ire of everyone who sees you - if you do it in your hometown you merely cause a loyalty cascade from what I can tell.

In any case, Manex killed the next adventuring party - fire jets and fireballs in close quarters are quite deadly even to a party of 3. Also I dunno what it is, but...are shields scaled to fit whatever race uses them? I was playing as an animal person but I had to drop the shield I started with as it was reducing me to 0.099 speed.

Anyway, I decided to try something else and started from the tarkatan civilization of the Noiseless Roof, as a striker by the name of Shur Craftpulleys. Shur recruited a bowman, Sirka Canyonrises, and Sinata Danglepaddles, a spearwoman. I got a shield and a buckler since I didn't require a weapon due to my armblades, and also picked up some sawblades for throwing.

The group headed to the shrine of Saffronpack, where a sand titan had taken residence - Goock Lakeglades the Animal of Sun. It was a giant, three-eyed hadrosaurid with mandibles, and could breathe fire. Only Shur and Sirka fought with the massive reptile - Sinata had ran off. Shur's martial prowess was more than a match for the beast, managing to tear it's nervous tissue with just his armblades - unfortunately he couldn't get an instantly killing blow with them, which allowed the beast to still thrash around madly. He blocked it's fire with his shields, but he couldn't manage to block it's extremely fast fireballs. Sirka was consumed by the flames after the beast crushed his hands and feet by thrashing around on his limbs with it's sheer weight alone, and unfortunately later Shur burned to death as well - although he died with satisfaction, knowing the beast would go down with him soon enough.

Afterwards, I made a tarkatan swordsman, Miga Tonepages. Once again, she recruited a maceman, Eliralah Gutteroiled, and a pikeman, Keerur Webbolt, grabbed some gear, including an iron scimitar, a second shield, and an iron machete to replace her silver long sword, and headed to Saffronpack. The sand titan was long dead - Miga took this opportunity to butcher it's body and created some bone goods from it, including a figurine of Shur, in order to honor his memory, and also a cloak. She then found Sinata not far from the shrine, and after badly telling a story about how someone killed a treant or something, somehow recruited her as an entertainer (???).

The group of 4 then had two places they could head to - the shrine of Blossomgills, where Nenara the Feral Snake, a hill titan, had taken residence, and the Matched Phlegms, a lair of the hydra N'agn Earlymatch the Primitive Hide of Canyons (or, in my personally preferred, untranslated version - N'agn Mglwuhjah'anai Wganaqaricokeri Shahararu - apparently a faceless one had encountered it earlier and named it - given the rather violent and cult-like nature of the n'raqi, it's unknown how any other race managed to translate it's name).

They decided to head to the shrine, as they felt too inexperienced still for fighting the hydra.

Nenara was a one-eyed, humanoid marmot with deadly spittle that it didn't get to use. It was disappointingly weak - Sinata and Eliralah immediately leapt on it, stabbing and bashing it with their weapons, before Miga delivered the coup de grace with her iron machete aimed at the titan's neck, severing it cleanly. She then butchered it's body, and made several trinkets out of it's bones and hide - most notably a bone figurine of the beast itself, a bone helmet, another cloak, and a face veil to hide her rather terrifying set of teeth.

Feeling they were ready, the companions headed to the Matched Phlegms, where the hydra made it's nest. Quite a big mistake.

The hydra smelled the scent of it's prey, and charged after Miga, attacking her with it's seven heads but missing entirely or bouncing off of one of the shields. Miga's first attack was quite a square one - her machete got lodged in the multi-headed snakes fifth head, fracturing the skull. Meanwhile, the blows of Eliralah and Keerur quite angered the beast, causing it to charge, bowling over Miga, stunning her, and allowing the hydra to focus on the two pests.

The onslaught was horrifying - Eliralah's left foot and left upper arm were bitten clean off - eventually the beast grabbed hold of the maceman's neck with it's teeth, shaking him around in the air, before biting off the remainder of his left leg, and latching onto his head with another head and shaking viciously, tearing deep into his skin. The warrior fell unconscious from the blood loss and eventually bled to death. During this, Keerur went into a rage and stabbed relentlessly at the beast - the effort proved ultimately futile and caused minimal damage, but drew all of the hydra's ire - Keerur died even more horribly than Eliralah - N'agn immediately stomped down on Keerur's head, holding him in place, bit off his entire left arm, followed by both of his legs, then as if to add insult to injury, headbutted his face, knocking out some of his teeth - by the time the beast was done with Keerur, he was nothing more than a legless torso with his upper right arm still attached. Sinata fared marginally better - she still lost her left hand and left foot to the beasts attacks, though.

The sight of this slaughter angered Miga, who proceeded with all her might to cleave off several of the beasts necks - this proved to eventually be too much for the hydra, who collapsed in a bloody heap, dead.

Sinata managed to fight off the blood-loss, although she's pale from it. Miga shall head back to her village, and drop off Sinata there, as she's clearly in no shape to fight anymore.

Doh! Bodygloss, yeah. Yet another thing I've somehow managed to stay not-knowing-about.

As for the name.. ye just gave me an idea, so I went and looked up a few greek words until thinking "hmm, how about.. powerful?" and thus I came up with:
'Ischyrotaur' or to shorten it up: 'Ischrotaur' *ponders the name for like 30 minutes* o_o I think I'm gonna go with 'Ischrotaur'.

A dangerous thing alright, rubbed a few brain cells together just now and remembered the pride demon from Dragon Age games (a franchise I never got into). :o

And about the shields, I've been using DFtool to resize or change the material of an item so a platinum shield or a maul for example that is made/sized for a default minotaur: Yikes! Which reminds me, I need to check if me bigger arms make the weapons heavier or not.

Anyhow, I've added my customized axe weapon already and tested it a bit and imagined the weapon's shape working in battle: Nope. Gonna change it to a glorified cleaver/broadsword/machete instead, will have a bit wider contact area for stabbing and a thicker handle (after all it is a weapon meant for a being with ape-arms, great strength and godly skill) and while at it I'm also gonna add a custom metal material and a cloth fabric as I need my own materials for the gear, I'm tired of that teal and white/gray colors on my adventurer.

I never played DA either, I just love the Seven Deadly Sins motif and figured It'd be cool to think of some fitting personifications and mod them in (hence the more abstract name of "fallen pride" instead of "pride demon", they're not supposed to be demons - same applies to the other personifications, out of which three - lust, gluttony and especially sloth, probably have more in common with the undead than demons anyway) - I only partially inspire myself with stuff from other games as to what would be a neat representation of a given sin.
Most of the lair hunter dialogue for each personification is just references though, like how in the pic where I shot the fallen pride with a harpoon he's quoting Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat - seemed fitting. Or Wrath channeling an enraged Goliath from Borderlands 2. And well, practically all of them quote the optional Seven Deadly Sins psychopaths from Dead Rising 3.

I don't think that applies to weapons, they seem to have a set size regardless of race when they're made without demonic DFhack rituals - it certainly didn't slow me down to carry a dragonslayer made by the vrykul, but carrying one of their shields dropped my speed dramatically as I've said.

Anyway, I continued on with Miga.

After butchering the Hydra, she made bone figurines of her companions, to honor their memory and valor.

On the way back home, she and Sinata were ambushed by a hungry cave brute who apparently mistook their smell for the scent of human females, who normally are the preferred meal of these beasts. Although Miga managed to slay it rather easily, Sinata's neck and spine were broken in the fight, and soon enough she suffocated.

Miga carried Sinata's corpse to the hamlet of Gemmuddled and gave her a funeral pyre, then recruited a hammerman, Sulur Manorpoison, and a axewoman, Shatah Cometgutters.

The group talked with Ogita Netgilds, the local enforcer, who told them about more beasts in the local area.

Their current options are:
-the labyrinth of Crevicewhispers, where a very young minotaur, Hiril, makes it's home. Hiril has no notable kills.
-the lair of Handlescars, where a cave brute named Rirulun Amazedbaldness the Whimsical Avalanche makes its home; the beast already has a killcount of 8.
-the shrine of Cobracudgel, far to the west, where the magma giant, Flaresieged the Claws of Denting, stands guard - over the course of it's rampages it killed 12.
-the lair of the Adventurous Torches, where a giantess, Rundal Knightjewels the Renowned Breach and her two children, Gogil Bravefame and Orgurgel, make their home. Rundal herself killed 5, Gogil killed 4, whereas Orgurgel has no notable kills.
-the lair of Brainyell the Intricacies of Pride, due east, near Saffronpack where the ettin Sodath Scribeglistened the Knower of Persuasion and her child, V'akl'alo Azurestyle dwell - V'akl'alo only killed one, whereas Sodath killed 7.
-the lair Trapscars the Innocent Sides, inhabited by Ngasmuk Thundereddots the gorecyclops, killer of 3. It's lair is closest to Miga's home village out of all the nearest beasts.
Dubs decides where we go. Gonna think about which order I should go in to fight progressively stronger opponents - would make sense.

I've given DA games a try but they never were my cup of tea to begin with, anyhow guess what.. I have done a big time derp! >_< This:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

*double facepalm*

Turns out I just got this wrong and this is the actual deal:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

and NOT this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Argh.. I don't get it. Why's my weight slightly lower with larger arms? :-\ That's the reason I dorfed it up so bad.

EDIT: On topic: Just genned a new world called 'Gatalsil' (The Ageless Plane) and it looks rather convenient. Made a new metal before that and some minor modding adjustments, plus a new weapon I shall be using:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

'Drolth' is a nasty mix between a cleaver, broadsword, machete and a greatsword. It's basically a one-edged hacking and gruesome stabbing two-handed sword with slightly longer handle on the bottom. It's a demonic sword exclusive to my Ischrotaurs (they run faster now too) and in a way due to it's faster attacks it's a sword worthy of a Ylside warrior (yes, Arx Fatalis reference).

Oh and the new metal, exclusive in my new world only to me:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Right now it's heliotrope in color because of limited onscreen colors of about seven. Besides.. even these purple/pink colors can be quite manly and menacing.

I never really delve too much into the relsize thing, since I rarely do 100% unique body templates aside from creature designs that really require it.

Technically the whole "relsize" thing is supposed to be size relative to the rest of the body, so by making only the arms bigger you're also making everything else smaller...it's confusing - I think that basically if you're just making the arms substantially larger than the rest of the body then the end result is less "large, strong arms on an appropriate frame" and more "comically oversized gorilla arms on a stick-thin body". So that would atleast explain why it would make you heavier to have the entire body be more proportional.

That sword seems mean - is it supposed to be serrated or does it just have a regular straight edge?

Regardless, I myself really love massive murderfucker-type weapons, i.e macuahuitls, so this seems like a weapon I'd think of giving to a really brutish, primitive race (although tbh a lot of what we'd call "primitive" weapons are actually surprisingly clever).

I'm thinking of regenning soon after adding some new metals based off of those from WoW, although for now I'll continue with Miga, since this is probably one of the few really successful non-morally reprehensible adventurers I've had recently. No slaughtering innocents, just killing beasts.

Tbh I don't really want to abandon this world as it's fairly interesting in some regards. There's barely any humans left in it - there's 2 civs that count as "alive" in legends viewer - one of them is composed only of a single human, the law-giver of the civ, and the other one has 16 spread among two sites - funnily enough, they actually own 4 sites, but 2 of them don't even have any human populations, and of those other two, one of them has 15 humans, the other has the remaining one - there's also one dead civ which still has 2 humans left alive.

Continuing from before, Miga and her companions hit every spot outlined by Ogita, with the only exception being the Adventurous Torches.

Most of the fights were rather anti-climactic - the two children of the giantess went unconscious from relatively light cuts, followed by Rundal herself - all died either from blood loss or being instantly killed (all companions got one kill each); Rirulun was found in her cave, nibbling on the corpse of one of the few remaining humans in the world, back turned away from the group, and so she didn't notice Miga taking a well-aimed stab at her chest, piercing the heart, followed by a quick slash at the neck, causing an immediate death; Ngasmuk was knocked out with a few well-placed stabs and her head was completely crushed by Sulur's mace; Hiril managed to scratch Miga's cheek and was repaid with a painful scimitar stab to the foot, followed by a machete slash at the head, decapitating him.

However, during this, the companions found several lairs not known to them or Ogita - the first was a labyrinth, Beastroast the Comet of Frenzies, home to Lisid Sculptknight, a female minotaur who was the sister of Hiril. Despite being marginally more experienced at combat than her brother, having 1 kill as opposed to 0, she was even more pathetic - a single hit to the head decapitated her.

The next one was near a place Miga knew to avoid - the Unthinkable Desert, a cursed land. She never knew exactly why a warrior like her would want to avoid such a place, but found out when she discovered Yellstands the Ashen Manges, a lair - merely a mound created out of dirt and clay. Upon finding the entrance, she was immediately struck with the odor of a slaughterhouse, and was disgusted to see the creature producing it - an abomination, Murgurgi, who immediately proceeded to vomit it's ichor in Miga's direction. She dodged it, and noticed that the grass died almost immediately wherever this ooze fell. The abomination fought fiercely with all it's disproportionate limbs, however it's raw strength was no match for the three companions skill and it eventually died when Sulur stabbed it's head with his armblade.

Another lair up north, Takefree the Brilliant Key, housed a similar creature, Elo Freegristle - this one was even more fierce, however, and the fight subsequently took a lot longer. Sulur took a nasty beating from it, both of his arms broken from the undead constructs punches. Miga quickly took action to prevent Sulur from dying, cutting off Elo's left hand and then it's left lower arm - this enraged the brute, who swung around blindly, hitting Sulur one last time, though still not killing him. Elo finally went down when a slash at the head from Miga's machete decapitated it.

The last place the group went to was Cobracudgel, where they fought with the ancient magma giant, Flaresieged the Claws of Denting. Due to the elementals gargantuan size, hacking away it's crust was difficult - Sulur with his silver war hammer couldn't do much but distract it. Unfortunately, the giant took the bait a bit too well - it completely crushed Sulur's left hand and left foot with it's massive fists, then picked him up and broke his right shoulder, before punching Sulur's head, completely exploding it and knocking his mangled body away.

Shatah fought valiantly, but one wrong move from her allowed Flaresieged to grab hold of her axe and wring it away from her, before grabbing her and throwing her away. This put Miga at a difficult situation, as until now she had been throwing the sawblades and arrows she took from her home village's mead hall, hoping to weaken enough of the guardians crust - now the giant was running in her direction. Her efforts proved to be useful however, when a single slash from her scimitar was enough to cut off the giants left hand.

Miga's last strike hit Flaresieged in the head, cutting it off - the giant immediately fell back, collapsing into a heap of stone that was rapidly cooling down, leaving nothing more than an obsidian boulder behind. Out of the smoke and dust came out a heavily wounded Shatah - her body sustained a lot of burns and her skin was sloughing off in some areas, and she eventually fell over, dead.

Saddened by the loss of yet more companions, Miga picked up Shatah's axe and the boulder that was once Flaresieged, then left for the nearby town of Cloisterfell, belonging to another tarkatan civilization, the Smith of Workers. She sold the boulder to a merchant for some trinkets, as proof of the magma giants death, then went to the tavern to learn of more potential assignments and finding some new companions.

Oddly, as I was writing this, the nerubian tavern keeper shot out some thick webbing at the tarkatan wrestler who was hanging around the place. I uhh, I'm tempted to post a Lenny face here but I wont do it.

I know I'm posting really long stuff recently, lol, but I think it'd be good practise for doing a more narrative-styled, modded community adventure game whenever 42.07 comes out.

Hmm, I guess I'll just save myself the headache and delete the RELSIZE lines from there all-together, good thing I haven't created a character yet in my new world and even with regular human like arm-to-leg ratio, being incredibly muscular plus a bit broad tends to even out that ratio somewhat. Thanks!

The sword, I'm thinking of drawing a sketch of it sometime and I had in mind a straight edge originally but since it's demonic in origin, serrated or slightly serrated is more likely the factor here. It's still practical but practical in a way that it was forged for a superbeing able to wield and use it like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Okay, wtf...

I was doing some more adventuring as Miga, and after clearing out an osh-tekk bandit camp, I come across this ruined hamlet, called Pastsparkles. In the mead hall is an elven ringleader, Abol Seizemoral. I check what legends viewer is telling me again, since according to it only a single centaur is supposed to be in the hamlet.

Abol as it turns out, is a member of the Scintillating Luxuries, a bandit group that formed in Daleshook, a forest retreat.

What's strange about this, you may ask? Well...

This is Daleshook

This is Pastsparkles

Look at the minimap.

What the hell is he doing there? I mean, it's possible for him to have walked this distance, even though it would take forever and he would have probably died many times over (he's unarmed), but...why? Why go this massive distance instead of, y'know, setting up a normal bandit camp nearby his parent civ?
