Mafol has left a human lasher, Luki, and a human swordswoman, Pesor back at the keep.
He and two human soldiers, swordswoman Xugot and swordsman Perom, roam the hillsides well north of Wavesides, clearing out bandit stranglers. The time of year is early summer and plants are beginning to bear fruit. Mafol has harvested some blackberries, strawberries, and apples for brewing.
Heading eastward, back to the mountain range Mafol came from, they periodically drop out of fast travel and during one of those slow travel treks, they stumble upon some elk. The gameplay concern for austerity as a RP character trait emerges here. Mafol butchers the elk corpse and tans the hide. He takes out some thread and some cloth to make a padded jack. As he's improved as a clothier and leatherworker, the likelihood of crafting a better quality item increases, which will cause conflict if worn. Luckily he produces something plain. Just a regular elk leather padded jack. Next run I'll keep the setting neutral for austerity/extravagance, just to lower need and remove conflict. One odd thing. Even extremely austere <<< dwarves feel irritation at wearing old clothing. Hmmm. What a materialist!
Mafol, Xugot and Perom stop off at the fortress Echoepapers and pick up a few tables and a new throne. A fortress warehouse is like any mini-mall or shopping center. There's even a food court with ripe horse cheese laying about. It's a shame NPCs don't eat. But they all drink, so drinks are had up top at the tavern on the ground z-level. Laden with goods, instead of heading southeast to a titan shrine, they return to Wavesides where Mafol brews blackberry wine, strawberry wine and apple cider.
Here I noticed that the treasure taken from bandit camps has vanished. The chest and bags are still here but the coins and the items are gone. I thought this was a bug related to mead halls only, but they apply to keeps. One wonders if any of the wine and cider will be around after the next outing.
