-snip-
I am the official performer for a village (I murdered the only other performer in the woods after tricking him into walking in there, cleaned off the blood etc, and they don't suspect a thing)...now I am teaching the lord's children my ways... been working on this kid for the last couple in-game days (while also keeping everyone entertained)

Btw, to hide murders just make sure no one sees you kill the person, and make sure you have nothing that is identified as theirs on you (wash off the blood and don't show any body parts) so the rumor cant spread and never tell anyone..
slightly better or worst than just letting them get maul by a bear? that way your hands are clean.

edit: so walk into an antman hilltop to find a goblin adminstrator only to see a one of my elf companion assault the goblin leader.
in means of research into the weird ask what the elf thinks of the goblin
and got this which kinda explains the hostility

it's a shame goblins got the Megabeast treatment with AIs.

Seems like your idea would be harder to pull off..you need  a bear.
I mean I suppose for my way you also need a river to wash off in.

bear, goblin, nightcreature, River source, bandit camp anything that murders folks good would do the trick, plus you get a story to tell and get fame out of the deal.

I am walking through a human town, slowly convincing everyone that peace, harmony, and merriment are worthless, and that war and power are to be exalted.

Additionally, just to be a dick, I convinced a tavern keeper that having fun and helping people are worthless.

Then I learned that you can eat too much and get sick in this version, which was fun.

Now I'm trying to teach a farmer that eloquence is worthless (in between retching), after he tried reciting a poem and failed horribly.

I'm not really sure that maiming someone and forcing them to live with a crippling disability for your amusement can really be considered "merciful." Just sayin'.

Cleaned out a necromancer tower in the Hill of Conflagrations. I had foolishly started the task with only edged weapons in hand so I figured I'd speed butcher all reanimatable parts to stop the remaining necros from using them against me. What I failed to take into account was that they would of course reanimate the skins...

Long story short, after hours of gruesome work there's now dozens of unkillable zombie head skins flopping around the otherwise empty tower. I just hope they won't start following me around  when I leave this place.

BTW, since my adventurer's backpack is now stuffed full of necromantic books, what would happen if I'd take them to a player fortress and leave them lying around in the library? Would the end result be a fortress full of accidental necromancers when unwitting readers would pick up a random book and learn secrets of life and death?

yes bonus is undead won't murder them, bad news dwarves will still be deathly afraid of them and will panic and run away in sight of one.
also military dwarves will fight said undead so prep yourself of dwarf murdering a pig leading to said pig coming back from the dead and rekilling that thing again.

I don't see any downsides. Time to retire this guy and start planning for future all-necromancer fortress! What could go wrong?

So, I generated a world, wanting to test out the new mechanics with music and all that.

Then, world gen was done in the year 258 when something caught my eye.

Now I've decided that an axedwarf sounds much better.
