Talking dragons, that sounds a bit odd. o3o

What happens when they take over a hamlet? Do they drive the inhabitants out, or rule over them? I'm wondering what occurs if you give non-megabeasts that token...

Stumbled over not only one, but two vaults practically right next to each other, right in the middle of a densely populated plain. Too bad my adventurer still has a long way to go before he's ready for that kind of challenge. Marking the spot and moving on...

Got two poets and a bard to join me as entertainers and formed the Pointy Rivers entertainment troupe. We were almost called the Lobsters of Euphoria.

Edit: We did a performance in the tavern after which one of the poets suddenly quit being a poet and became a milker. Must have shaken his confidence.

So, I recently met my end at the hands of a Cyclops. However, there's one thing that I find strange. I was using Sneak, which means the game was showing me their eyesight arc. However, before the Cyclops murdered me, I managed to hit it in the eye with my sword, getting "The severed part sails off in an arc". But the eyesight didn't disappear, the Cyclops could still see. That's when he killed me.

I did test with other creatures (regular animals) before, and removing their eyes did work. It only failed with the Cyclops.
I've encountered that before - it was the Cyclops' eyelid getting cut off, not the eye itself.

so having retired the Ant Tavern I jump into adventure mode as a Copperhead Snakelady, who is a hearthperson of a goblin site.
said goblin site has some panic driven goblins which seem to treat me like a forgotten beast and run away and guards attack me even though some how this snake lady work her way up to being a hearthperson.

so Gonna say who ever sent those complaints about goblins being too friendly kinda made a bunch of too paranoid goblins that seem to have a knot in their brains that constantly re triggers their "OH SHOOT RUN FROM THE ADVENTURER" switch everytime they see me. even while I'm performing in a tree because floorhatches now all don't work for adventurers now.
like got a goblin who too panicked to jump out of the roof to sit down and watch my snake lady sing in a tree and got said goblin to join me as an entertainer but suddenly as I try to climb down bam goblin calls off the agreement and bolts off.
so now I'm off to I start the cackling in an elf settlement up until I notice they have instrument buildings and Really good Badass Taverns.  So now I really want to start one in this Cool Elf Tavern. because if TREES don't provide "inside" protection then chances are I'm gettin that fight and I hope I do it in a middle of a performance.

Do floor hatches require [CANOPENDOORS] or what?

They chill out for centuries peacefully, sometimes get in footraces, sometimes become vampires and lay oppressive edicts when accused... and when you show up they remember they are dragons and burn everyone to death.

I always found the df dragons not talking to be weird, personally, so I fixed that error.

Well that sounds Fun. I modded dragons in Adventurecraft to have wings and flight (thus, consistent with cave dragons), but that's about it.

I have modded in intelligent dragons with their own civ in the past though. Some of my most Fun adventures were as a derpdragon. o3o

You can definitely win asymmetric fights with careful use Dwarf-Fu.  Check the Kisat Dur thread:

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=148015.0

One lucky hit will ruin it for you, though.  If he connects without you parrying, dodging, or interrupting his strike... you're pretty much done.

I teamed up with a spearman. I killed eight elves, lieutenants of the dorf bandit Urist McBanditleader. I wasn't able to find the dorf himself. I traveled to a town. I was killed by a stray dog and some turkeys. It was inevitable.
It's been a long time, years in fact, since I played DF.

Ninja'ed

Using a combination of Kisat Dur, cleverness, the terrain, and sheer luck, I manged to slice the hammerlord's leg. Then I sliced her other leg and she passed out. She was a worthy opponent, so I took her masterwork silver maul and skedaddled.

I've arrived at the fortress, but she's tailing me, and now I'm fighting a bunch of goblins from the fortress. Apparently it's goblin-controlled.
