This adventurer I'm playing as seems to be unable to be a necromancer...

I went near a tower and forced all the undead to wander away, allowing me to easily run in and grab the slab.
I read it, it says the whole "Secrets of Life of Death" and I don't get the acquired power for animation.

Has anyone else had that happen before?

Is your adventurer an elf or a goblin?

ummm, thats not exactly true.  I gave goblins gods and they respond by occassionally building towers, and elves are rare necroes in my world.

Someone will have to correct the wiki then, it even says so in the end of the first paragraph of this section.

wait are you mistaking the demon run slade fortress as a tower because they are both really really tall.
as for elven necromancy... have you got proof of them doing this or are they just members of the site?
did Cacame pick up necromancy to raise his wife back from the dead?

I forgot to change the max age for elves from immortal to 500 in this specific folder... That explains a few things. Thanks, dude.

oh wait I misread your post sorry Pisskop. I didn't see you said you GAVE goblins gods which lead to tombs and towers.

on the subject of necromancy I booted up the new darkage and tried my hand at a reanimator, so far the most weird thing I did was spending a minute getting a zombie pikeman dressed. you choke a sleeping person to death and they just lose all grip on worldly clothes.

hahahaha cool! what is the message? you stil play in ASCII?? you experience some lag when you're in crowded towns too?

For me it depends on whats revealed on map and what the game is doing

Populated Goblin Forts, Large Markets, 40+ zombies ambushing me, and most player forts are slower than average, but I do okay.  I can crawlsneak fast enough, and the faster you run the faster the game runs.

i only get crap inside big markets and big towns, even tombs wih lots of skeletons don't make things bad, what curses you're using? this anti-aliasing ASCII??

First time attacking a shrine for months. RL. Gonna be fun, with my peasant locally unimportant knife fighter and bowman. Been a pretty hard journey, but I've fought enough gobbos and sasquatches on the civilised continent to make my way over to the evil and wild one where all the shrines are.
