For one reason or another, despite my crossbow and quiver, I can't fire bolts.
I don't think firing a crossbow requires a free hand, since I fired one on another character with a bag, two knives, a whip, and a halberd no problem. I'm actually holding LESS.

Oh yeah, was playing with more goblins, found a fortress and was trying to locate the guy in charge... tried asking someone after I killed the troll that was mangling them... they passed out mid-convo.




After finding that the lord was actually dead at the hands of the demon upstairs I said screw it and headed out of the lagfest pits, noticing an asterisk roaming the map I bump into it...

Oh wait, is that? *checks*

Yup, there's the lord I was looking for, they all waited patiently while I asked him about every beast he could think of, which took forever...

After losing my party to the treacherous river, I finally reached ruins of former fortress. Hopefully I will get myself some some adamantine sword and retire back to ruin I claimed ownership of earlier.

UPD: I fell victim to my own architecture and drowned in water reservoire, trying to reach cavern level through well shaft.

Also the well shaft might have been faster or safer, if the stairs were trapped, which is not unheard of.

I wish I could show you 3D layout of my stairs. Than you could understand. Basically, it's random long shafts that interconnect with no rhyme and reason (I was trying to find the caverns, somehow failed to do so anyway, dug right into magma sea, tracked back, breached into second level. For some time first level was only accessible through the tunnel from the second.

First try at small animal wrestling powerleveling with a goblin named Dang Subtledeaths (Dazos) ended when the turkey hen broke a finger, knocked me out from the pain, and pecked my brains out.

I entered a goblin dark fortress. Killing the demon did not go so well, I only got away when it randomly turned on the lord. However, rescuing the children went well, I have returned 6 of the 30 to their parents. Among the children are two former elven royalty. Also I killed 6 goblins with a leather hat. I like rescuing children.

Those turkeys, man. The real ones will drown themselves in the rain, but DF has converted them into killing machines.

About to try a fun adventurer idea - holding as many shields as possible.
My character's whole name is Shieldball. I'm taking every last shield and buckler from this mead hall, getting some meat shields companions, and going off to fight stuff.
Given DF's mechanics, shouldn't holding ~15 shield's worth of shield items (bucklers aren't a "full" shield) make you nigh invulnerable?

EDIT: Walked into goblin camp, got attacked. After fighting a bunch of goblins, already went from Adept to Legendary. Turns out 29 total shields makes your shield user skill skyrocket; spatial and kinesthetic senses quickly went to High from Average.

Sleeping in an abandoned house as a half naked female outsider in the process of gathering gear.

Woke up with a pikeman, lasher, and two spearmen on top of me demanding I drop my recently found iron spear.

...did so, dodged away, tried to grab it back, no luck.

Got the one with it to chase me away from the others, circled around in stealth mode and stabbed his foot, he fell over, jabbed his brain, took my spear back, took his back, butchered his body, ate his heart, threw pieces of him at his friends, then tracked them down and did the same til I found the leader, the lasher bitch who spit on me... broke her legs, pulled her tongue out, and kicked her then let her bleed to death in a pile of vomit before scattering her chunks around the area.

Been systematically stealth killing all the bandits and criminals in the area now, rob me will you?

Kobolds are tough mofos. I stabbed one through the back with my sword, tearing apart the heart. The thing still ran 12 tiles before succumbing to his wound.
