Make sure you have the map turned off, it'll tell you what structures are nearby or something.  Once I figured it out, I got to see lots of stores and stuff around, but mostly food, bone cravers and leather workers.  Bah.  I want a weaponsmith!  It'll also tell you where wells and stuff are.  I think you need to find a sewer entrance to get to the catacombs and stuff.

After getting lost in a big city (I was walking in circles, found that only after 10 minutes), I stumbled upon an open-air bazaar.

First ad my dwarf hears?

"Authenthic prepared wolf lung here!"

But I tell ya what, a group of cats stuffed on a small parcel of land behind an array of meat stands is quite... uh. Uneasy to see, yeah.

Catacombs in a city. Full of random bits of weaponry, and pouches/chests often has monies you can use to buy things at a bazaar.

I have quite a few silver coins, checking my inventory. I also am bringing along two followers, one who has a silver sword. either way it'll be fun to see how it turns out!

I got a quest to kill the cult leader's wife, and apparently she's in the catacombs. Where are the catacombs?

Find a temple - near central hole/water pool, there are many doors. Those lead to catacombs.

And catacombs are quite a good haul! Fath Berathel emerged from them with a gem-studded (rose quartz, clear zircons, topazes) black bear leather glove, several metal (mostly iron) shirts, (huge) piles of random coins and few silver weapons in her backpack.

Now, to the great bazaar and actually buy something!

I got a quest to kill a wolf.Recruited a crossbowman and proceeded towards location of target.A ambush was staged by some goblins that i dispatched with ease.The crossbowman was terminated by two goblins i did not see.I proceeded towards the location yet again,only to be ambushed by wolves.I decapitated all of them and decided to carry their bodies in the event i learn necromancy.

Fuck, something (blahblah moonlight?) ambushed me in the catacombs and ripped Fath's arms off. She is dead.

New game, picked up a couple human companions, went to a tomb. On the first floor, there was a weapon on the floor but it was trapped. Luckily I jumped away in time and wasn't injured. On the next level was the tomb. There were  ~15 human skeletons on the floor. I walked over to the sarcophagus and a human mummy jumped out. He brought back from the dead all the skeletons in the room. I died.
