I didn't have this problem when I tried playing a kobold.  But then again I usually got punted across the room and died before that happened.  It's hard being a kobold, it's hard and NOBODY UNDERSTANDS.

I can imagine kobolds being really fun to play once thief-survival becomes a legit adventuring style.

Ah, yes, I thought something was amiss. Now I see. There's not enough terrible things in the lakes.

at best make a kobold Civ able and make a town/cave for them to rest and relax in.

Well in the corrosion mod I had a bunch of bandits "Piss of symmetry" ambushed me near my fortress "the glowing woman". this lead to the members of the site rush to our defense and killed them. I might as well exploit this and farm bandits for their gear.

I just found a fortress made of pitchblende.

Not surprisingly, no one inside it was alive.

I made a human called Mathras Slinparamet (which means basically "Apple worm") with the intention of making him a dreaded legendary bandit. Some horse kicked him in the back and now he's a cripple. I was going to "retire" him, but then I realized just how appropiate his name is. Hell, its like in Unbreakable, he's just begging to become a legendary villian with that name.

Just decided that it was a bad idea to run an adventure in a world genned using CivForge, as I am currently being chased down by no fewer than 7 Frost Giant bandits.

I've been playing in civ forge with no problem so far, but I haven't encontered frost giants yet. Of course i'm kicking so much ass running around chopping heads off that I wouldn't be worried anyway.

Yeah, they were fairly slow, so I was able to hoof it and get away safely. Then I caused a massive loyalty cascade in my civ by murdering some noble lady, which culminated in pretty much everyone else going after the warlord.

I love cyclops(es)!!!!
I just discovered that once you slice them enough to pass out from pain, you can basically chop off ears, nose and all fingers and toes without them bleeding out...
unfortunately I haven't managed to chop off any serious appendage, I wonder if a bluemetal battle axe/giant axe blade/serrated disc would do the trick?

Playing as a GCS. Other than the occasional bandit, there isn't much of a problem. He has maxed social awareness or whatever that stat is, and has a total of fifteen companions. Grand Master Dodger, Competent Biter, Adept Wrestler.
I just got a quest to kill another GCS. This won't even be fair.

EDIT:
One companion lost a foot. Everyone else jumped on the critter and tore it apart. While I was shaking its abdomen around, a maceman got the killing blow. Whatever.

EDIT:
DAMN YOU RANDOM CRASHES!
Set off to kill a giant. Arrived, and...
"Nemesis unit not loaded."
Sigh... wasn't to terribly happy with a GCS anyway. Not much variety in the way of attacks.

Playing as a void master in genesis mod I get a quest to kill a minotaur. Because I lost both of my arms in previous encounters, I recruit a few warriors.
So I get to his labyrinth and find him pretty quickly. Combat goes normaly for a few round at which point I get hit by an attack that sends me flying into the wall left to the minotaur.
I have a mortal wound but am still allive, and while the minotaur is fighting with my companions, I crawl behind him and shoot him with a blast directly through the heart, instantly killing him.
This was probably the most awesome moment in my whole time of playing dwarf fortress.

Made my way to a bandit camp whose leader was a pikeman.

I ran around the main battle and came up behind the pikeman and stabbed the side of his head with my bronze shortsword, killing him instantly.

The flying bronze arrow strikes The Human Axeman in the upper front tooth from behind and the severed part sails off in an arc!

What is this I don't even

EDIT:Currently travelling through the cavern system; I was knocked off of the ramp to the surface, and there is no access to it from the cavern, so I decided to make for the cave that is about 2 days to the northwest and hope that I can find the exit. I'm halfway there, so I have another day of travelling without fasttravel. Oh, and an ogre knocked me down a pit and broke both of my arms.

EDIT2: HAHA, success! I reached the map tile under the cave, slept, and magically woke up on the surface. My arms have healed, and I have dozens of kills added to my list.
