Has anyone even HAD a tower in .42.02? I've genned a fuckload of worlds in different settings, and yet to get even ONE tower.

Had some. Usually around 4-5. Sometimes a lot more (highest was 16 - but this world was really messed up).
My worlds are running til 500 (at the bare minimum) - and I always fiddle with the necromancer setting (regional_interaction - or was it disturbance_interaction? I always raise the interactions - alongside with savagery, sites and civs.).

The knowledge values, kill them for dorfs cause the lagfests suck, add them for humans and goblins, I made dorfs built vaults cause they're awesome (random steel gear), like 75 civs on a 33x33. That isn't the high end of towers I've seen btw, but I had a feeling that the libraries would turn out well so I kept it.

Started out in the southeast dark fortress and confirmed that it IS IN FACT A GOBLIN LIBRARY... only goblin civs available, only gobs can start there... heading towards it and I missjudged a jump.

Can't find any books in this library, not sure where all the goblins are heading atm.

To make it easier to find I put in a self-only target speedbuff to zoom around and find it, even when crawling I'm at speed 9.4... then I realized I'm a goblin crawling around at 9.4 speed!

Oh, I don't usually let it run the full 2500 years... that was a dud setup from the beginning, when you get those just abort and do it again, you'll get the ones with a lot of green on the map. But after that long you must have something preventing towers.

Nope. Kobolds got CAN_SPEAK added to their UTTERANCES, goblins lost NOEAT and NODRINK, and all of the 5 races got the outsider flag. That should be it for playable creature tweaks.
