Still playing in .13, i found a camp of some dogs, rabbits and a cavy boar recruit, all of them sleeping inside a tent.

Yeah, I just kinda assumed animal recruits were a normal adventure mode thing since I think the first adventuring I did was like .18 or .19, and I encountered quite a few bear, cougar, and similar recruits.

Currently in monsterworld I've got an army of crundle and flesh blob and magma crab recruits fighting the three dorf recruits from the first fort I set up.

After fighting and killing both demon masters in this world, I have discovered that punching and blunt weapons do far more damage to demons than edged. Good to know for the future.

Thanks for that. Haven't fought a demon yet in 40.xx. Will have to try it.

Back at a hillock, cretin forestbeard the windy cosmos of stars the macedwarf, steps outside a mound a few hours before dawn and sees a motionless "*" asterisk standing beyond the edge of the hillock. Naturally one wants to meet this *. Turns out to be Vilela the starved woman Ñ. Macedwarf inspects her as they stand in the snowy field. She's weak, but not skinny. This is vaguely and perhaps mistakenly a relief. Skinny night trolls always seem to be freakishly fast, while the muscular ones feel manageable in regard to their speed when you happen to be unarmored. She approaches and once adjacent, but non-directional or committed to any attack, macedwarf opts to first swing quick attack and then dodge away. The remainder of the combat is the usual repetition of quick attack + dodge away until a decent head shot appears and she is brained.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Unarmored night troll fights are only going to lead to an eventual death once a fast one appears, so it seems time to do what should have been done as the macedwarf's first action once he was created: when inquiring about troubles, only seek out beasts who have killed. Often players who play dwarf or elf leave them armor made at their old fortress, but if you're like me and the height of your fortress play has been following the walkthroughs where you dig out small poorly formed rooms and perhaps begin random farming, but never go beyond that, pre-made armor is not an option. So the first practical step is to seek out beasts who have kills to their names as this will mean the possibility of armor found at their lairs/shrines. In this case, the only two choices with kills are dragons. Fire is a gamble, but only if active and only if the creature (titan) won't give in to pain.

Perhaps there is still a morale issue with 40.xx dragons as they still don't initiate attacks. I vaguely remember them always being glass cannons as they can feel pain, so these two are brained quickly. Only in the first encounter was there the chance of being set on fire as the first dragon breathed once.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The haul is only a pair of bismuth bronze greaves from the second encounter.

Things continue, many humans are slaughtered as usual. I decided to let my companions get some kills to get them experience that they really need.

I discovered another group of hamlets and a town, after ravaging the hamlets we ravaged the town, still going fine.

Then I go into another hamlet, I go into the mead hall and attack the people within, my less skilled companion gets corned by 2 people, he was able to kill one of them but the hammerman killed him. The hammerman didn't live long. c:

After gathering his corpse and his stuff I begin the journey back to my home so I may store him in a chest near my throne.
Of course I will be killing all non-dwarven peoples on the way.

The other companion is great, 187 kills she may become a force of death like myself if she doesn't get unlucky. :3
Although since I think so well of her she'll probably die.

Not really much to say since all I do is kill humans and the occasional elf or goblin. xD

Went to some hillock, killed some goblins. Navigation is really hard. I'd rather go further exploring.

Cool, but wouldn't this likely lead to tongues having a '[SPEACH]' tag, and thus via necromancy we would have nearly unkillable reanimated tongues following necromancers spamming 'it is sad but not unexpected'?

Run-ins with lashers usually end in three hits with me: the lasher hitting my leg, me hitting the ground, and the lasher caving in my head.

Well. I felt a pang of guilt yesterday.

I was working on taking over the world and got to a town. I met the local lord, who I demanded tribute from. He refuses. I decide to start shouting about all the people I killed at him, the closest I could get to intimidation or insults, and see if then he'll pay tribute out of fear. After reciting all my notable kills at him, I asked him how he was feeling.

"I like jokes! Tell me a story!"
"I'm feeling pretty good right now."
"Isn't it great to be surrounded by family?"

I figure that maybe a face punch could get him to pay, but that accidentally escalated into No Quarter when the local priest charged me and I had to defend myself.

I killed him in cold blood. That poor, living, breathing man, with a heart of gold and friends and family. All over land.

I couldn't take it. I gave the land claim to a nearby militaryman and left to find repentance.

On another note, I met a werebeast in his hideout later in that game. I chatted him up a little bit and discovered he was a greedy, selfish bastard with no concern for others. Every last thing he said screamed "Chaotic Evil", from how he said he'd do whatever it took to get what he covets to his blatant disregard for decency. He is dead in the name of the former king.

Recently found a clown on a goblin dark fortress (Which by the way, was named "Uselesshell"). I tried to sneak past by but he started to move toward our party. I managed to fracture his leg and hand, but still, got my ass kicked by the almighty weasel monster.

Setting out on my first quest with this adventurer. Found a group of vultures. Cut the wing off one and severed its head, decapitated another, and then completely bisected the third. Took their mangled corpses with me for food. :D

I actually have a story now. The conclusion is making me go back to my home, or a town I run into on the way back, which delays me... but...

The brave human swordsman, and our protagonist, Lelgo CLUTCHPANTS (wish I were kidding), sneaks up on a camp where bandits are resting. He sneaks up and quickly dispatches one. Others are sleeping, so he charges in (without waking them somehow) and dispatches them all with slashes through the neck, decapitating their heads. He loots each one of their coins as he goes along... before looting their chests and getting a lot of iron armor. He attacks the captain without remorse, cutting him down with a strike to the gut, spilling his guts, before slashing his head off. :D

Haven't a clue, man.

Too busy toying around with my new fave world gen settings to know, the same settings which gave me a single dorf+scattered elves and a buncha gobs+monsters, after trurning off "playable civ required" gave me a world where my options are human outsider, or gob from civ a, b, or c.

Been exploring as a gob, very post apocalyptic feel in some of the towns, but nobody will give me info, they either attack me or freak and run, no matter what combo of peaceful behaviour I try. Ah well, guess I will explore the hard way. Thankfully gobs eat way less than I expected, so roaming way out in the field is pretty straightforward.

I was ambushed by a single maceman in a town after killing the rest of his group. He charged me at a sprint, so when he was almost in range, I jumped at him. He was propelled backwards and broke his head open. RIP in peace, stupid maceman.

Argh, so hard to find the balance between postapocalyptic runaround fun and flat out not being able to figure out where anything is.

You know it's bad when you see if the gorlak has any useful information.
