melted off my finger's fat.
Did you survive?
Where it died was a bauxite ring.
Does it always happen when you kill a titan?

It wouldn't kill him,if all his fat was melting thus bleeding it would be a diffierent story.

And no it doesn't always happen, the titan was probably standing on it causing it to be a !!ring!!

So, my new adventurer character looks like a fat Steve Buscemi.

*whelp* once more into the breach...

By the time this was over the little bastards had overwhelmed by companion, my spear had about 150 more notches than before, I started to imagine my dwarf slogging through piles of koboloid body parts and blood everywhere as he, exhausted, executes yet another, then I felt guilty.

Since I modded in a metal that is well above the boiling point of water, I encountered a maceman in Adventure Mode with that metal as their helmet and armor.
They're melting.
MELTING.
I'll put them out of their misery with a knife of the same metal.

I was wondering wether I should post this here on in the "how have you been dying"-thread.

Anyway, my latest adventure was short and sweet, so I might as well put the whole thing here.

Started out as a proficient swordsdwarf in a human town. With no willing companions around I set out on my own to accomplish the quest I had been given: To kill a bandit leader. I was rather fortunate with this quest as the enemy camp only had around 4 soldiers, including the leader. None of them were ranged. Aside from me re-enacting the "black knight" skit from Monthy Phyton and beating them to death with their own limbs, it was rather uneventful. I looted a steel longsword, plate armour and a helm.

On my way back I was attacked by Langurs. It was fun.

Went back to town, slept and set out for my next quest: Another bandit leader. As soon as I entered the bandit camp I knew I was in for trouble. A steel bolt flew past me. Figuring that escape was no option at this point, I decided run forward and reach my enemies before more projectiles came my way. As I run forward, a couple of enemies comes into my line of sight. I countinue onward, ready to fight to the end! Then, from the right, I see a pack of lions appear. I halt my charge and run the other way - The lions charge my enemies and I enter sneak mode behind a clifff.

Most of the lions were slain, but so were also the enemies. The enemies fight their way to my last known position, before I began sneaking around. As they finish off the last of the lions, I sneak up on the undamaged of the two enemy soldiers that are left. I quietly stab him trough his torso before chopping his head off, then I take the head and throw it on the last remaining guy. He was busy vomiting a few steps from us on didn't notice the struggle that was going on behind him.

However, none of the dead bodies belong to the bandit leader, so I sneak around on the savannah looking for him. Sadly he was nowhere to be seen, though I did find a flamingo. I decide to take out my disappointment on this poor creature - Unfortunately, Karma seems to be a real thing. I killed the flamingo on a ledge and as I passed down under it, the bird corpse fell down and broke my left leg. I dragged my way to a cathedral and rested away my injuries. The high priest refused to give me any new quest (The bandit leader I was after had apparently died anyway) so I decided to explore this temple in the city.

It's not so much a temple as a hole in the ground with 4 different doors. Nothing of interest behind my first choice. Behind my second choice there's a small army. I try and hold them in the narrow corridor but, somehow, I end up between all of them. I'm slashed and can't stand, but I manage to deflect more or less all of their attacks: I was afraid this was it for me - But I'm actually slashing off body parts left and right, and I seem to take no further damage despite their best efforts.

However - As I should have learnt by now, hope is but a cruel illusion in this game. As I was on my way to slash another enemy into halfs, a riflegunner behind me puts a bullet through my head.

Press ESC to finish.

Attempting to explore a tomb, nabbing a nice masterwork bronze pike that might have made a decent weapon if the totally OCD mummy didn't show up out of freakin' nowhere and unceremoniously stabbed my head off. I sent several more adventures to attempt to nab the pike, but alas, none of them have prevailed. My latest adventurer is attempting to build up his skills before facing the fiend off this round.

Keep in mind, this is without the support of any undead. That mummy wasn't general for nothing.

Try throwing the pike at him with a grandmaster thrower, then suicide and steal it with a pikeman.

Started as an elf. Kept killing bandits until I could find one with a decent weapon. It took quite a while, since the first few bandit gangs I took out were also elves. The best I could do was swap my maple sabre for a ☼Willow Sabre☼.

So that was fun. Wood is terrible. I was ecstatic when I was finally able to loot a no quality iron short sword off of a dwarven bandit.

One problem I continue to have is constant crashing when I approach labyrinths. I don't know why it's doing this, as every other lair or cave I have ventured across is fine. I don't believe I had modded minotaurs much, other than giving them more to say, giving them extra-vision, and allowing them to trance.

I did manage to find one I could enter, at least. The minotaur within had a copper pick, so it was a double-win for me. Afterwords I had found a cave and wandered around the caverns. I had found a "Curious Structure", though the wildlife had already killed much of the wilder life that lived inside. There was one jabberer in particular that seemed to really want the place empty.

It was actually smaller than a few of the other structures I had been in, and it didn't have some of the cool features that some others had. In fact, underneath the structure's 'prize' was nothing. Just room after empty room. Some rooms had holes in them, making a sort of catwalk, but that was the extent of the features within.

A quick check of my backpack shows that I have way more magnetite than I need. And rutile, conglomerate, and gabbro. Plus gems. And a live scorpion and a cave spider. Tons of meat and bones. Plus a quern, for some reason. It's a good thing there is no limit to what you can carry, as otherwise I would be an elven pancake.

Killed a roc. Tried to stuff it into my pack, because if there is anything I need, it's more weight. Though when I went to check my pack later all of the roc's parts were gone. Either I didn't pick it up, accidentally dropped them somewhere, or they simply phased out of existence somehow.

I went to a good region and used some DFHack magic to turn an area into a site and retired there.

Playing a dwarf twinked out from the spoils of an abandoned fortress.

Quote
Agen Pristinetwilight was a tundra titan. It was the only one of its kind. A huge scaly snail. It has thin wings of stretched skin and it has an austere look about it. Its chestnut scales are large and set far apart. Beware its webs! Agen was associated with nature and animals.

blah blah blah

70 notable kills.

So a flying webber with no one shot kill locations, which is what killed my most successful adventurer to date. So I gather up all the bow/crossbowmen I can find and set off across the goblin empire and glacier that are between me and the titan, traveling mainly by night and sleeping during the day to improve the FOV in case of an ambush.  On the first day out disaster strikes. We get a huge goblin ambush and one of my dudes is already dead by the time I've stood up.  By the time I've mopped them up all of my companions are either dead or bleeding to death.

I headed back to the nearest fort to try to rustle up some more help.  There were no archers, but I brought along the hammer lord and pikeman that were there.
First day. Ambush. Pikeman gets pincushioned and the hammer lord survives but is missing a foot and his hammer arm, on the plus side I gained a silver warhammer.
Second day. Ambush. I'm the only survivor. At this point there is only a day or so left to the lair and the nearest forts (2+ days away) are mostly depopulated so I decide to take my chances.
Third day. I head out into the tundra, at some point I realize that I'm thirsty and that the water in my water skin has turned to ice, so I backtrack to the "edge of the green" sleep, eat and drink and head back into the tundra.
Fourth day. Most of the forth day is spent on a sheet of ice with no wildlife to speak of.  I take a chance on thirst and sleep near the titans lair.
Fourth evening. I sneak up to the lair and chuck the aforementioned silver hammer at him. He is stunned! I decide to risk taking a couple swings in melee.  The very first attack severs the motor nerve, so I get a little cocky.  His shell and one wing are gone before I get a second announcement that Agen Pristinetwilight is lying before me (idk if this means sneaking stopped working or he got unstunned or what). I backed away a step and he started spewing webs, but not moving. The rest of the fight was basically me standing there webbed while he bled to death.
The trip back was relatively uneventful.  There was a random goblin bowman that decided to join up with me (who unfortunately drowned at a river crossing) and a couple more from the "Monsters of Celebrating" who quickly realized they had made a mistake in attacking that lone dwarf in the wilderness.

Up next is something I'm not sure is possible... its not the Roc I'm going to kill that worries me (maybe it should) its the 3+ days I'm going to have to spend with no water while I'm going the rest of the way across that same tundra.

You can interact with campfires to melt your ice and drink it.

So, I decided to start a new world using the Dwarven Chocolate mod, as large as I can make it and disable the revealing of the history at creation. I'd going to play a new peasant Bat Man(chosen at the will of a few friends) character then try and seek all of the magic slabs that world has to offer by traveling from town to town and asking about surroundings.
I am aware that if I don't start as a Dwarf, Elf, or Human, there will only be one place in the whole world that will tolerate my presence until I prove my worth as a hero. Everyone stand back, I'm about to have some serious FUN. Wish me luck.

You shall be a champion of the darkness, a dark knight, if you will. You will be the hero that the humans deserve, but do not feel the need for, at least for the time being. They will hunt you, yet knowing you can take it in doing so.

That, or you will die to a kobold archer on the way out of the underworld. Dwarf Fortress is funny that way.

That's the odd thing. It always starts me in a human town or hamlet if they're available. So now I'm a bat man adopted into this human civilization. Anyway, I've been doing the usual stuff to ensure I survive later on. I became a legendary archer and am slowly working my wrestling and fighting skills up, too. I'm also sticking as close as possible to this town so I don't end up getting stuck between the night and an angry mob of disgruntled humans later. I'm playing it very safe.

EDIT: Well, that didn't last long, I ended up getting my spine shattered by a camel. I tried to continue in spite of my inability to stand, and I got killed by a goblin lasher. Oh well. I didn't even locate a single slab.
