I intend to retire in the capital town, spend the days drunk, hit on the get turned down by barmaids every night. Maybe even join the dwarven siege as a high level commander (Is that possible in DF mode?) and then perish along w/ everyone in town in a inevitable magma flooding incident...

On Topic: Played a defeated custom race wiped out by goblins led by a demon in one battle. After a little training and getting some mercenaries, proceeded to hunt down the rust demon responsible...After some time it seems I wasn't doing much damage (Her dominant left hand was injured and nerves were severed way before I arrived on my destination, and was wielding a halberd one handed) and worst of all, my "help" was just watching us duke it out (Did I mess up the raws somewhere? They literaly just watched me get beat up).

After getting knocked down & standing up several times, the demon thought that I didn't need a leg for this dance and clawed and ripped one out...when she grew tired of playing with me, she simply kicked my head, skull and brains to paste.

Alas, the last of her race failed to get vengeance...because the hired help didn't feel like it. Legends say that her body is now displayed on a spear somewhere.

I've had that problem before - I think they only help you fight members of other civilizations if they're a member of the same one as you.  Very frustrating.

Indeed - Though, mine was much more tragic. My fingers and a foot were cut off, so i dragged myself along the streets, curled up in a corner, awaited my death, died, then i think i was cannibalised by a bunch of children... Unless they were just suspiciously lingering around me for a long period of time...

My poor kobold was beaten to death by a pair of mushroom people. I thought I had made them incredibly weak... Maybe her skull was just incredibly thin.

^Hmmm...aren't enemies made of such stuff (steam, snow, etc) usually weak or "brittle"? Meh, It still leaves quite the mental image of an epic battle while a climatic,full of latin chanting BGM is playing.

Yeah, I don't even know what happened there. It was something like:
