Messed about a bit in my medium world, killing everything with previous adventurers, before being pegged by bronze bolts

Anyway, started a new peasant adventurer, and this is my first quest:

My adventures with the new version have consisted mostly of ransacking tombs. Which can be summed up as such: The dead do not like it when you take their stuff. They do not like it at all.

Stupid mummy stabbing me in the guts with a silver spear...

I got a couple with 1500+ kills (in two consecutive worlds, even).  Naturally, after killing them, I drank their blood.  Now I'm a vampire!  I think I may have scared off my companions, though...

is it just me, or is @ mode much harder in this version. I cant seem to get more than 10 squares out side the starting town with out getting owned by 10 bandits.

Also Toady didnt muck round with the mummies tombs alright.

I agree with the bandits.  I've lost about four adventurers to the same bandit group.  Here's how the encounter works:

I arrive at the hideout.
I see the boss. 
I see the green archer
I charge the boss, hiding using trees.
I step out to face the boss, an arrow hits me, chipping the bone. 
Boss breaks me. 


Also, what do you mean about the mummies?

Well, at least now, bandits are living up to their names.

Also, I just died once more to the night (creatures) after traveling, at night. That is all.

I'm currently robbing a tomb. A tomb which is quickly on its way to becoming a churning mass of reanimated severed limbs. Normal mummies are bad enough, but armoured mummies are a nightmare.

HOW DO YOU ROB TOMBS?!  There's nothing in the crypt i've seen to steal, how in the name of all that is good and bloody, did you activate the mummies?

Just wander around in the tomb. Also, have you been to the tombs marked by a grey 0 on the map, or the catacombs? The grey 0 ones tend to have the best stuff.

I've only survived my first few quests in adventure mode because of some modding I did.  I added in a new human caste with natural armor and the spells from the witcher mod, without which I would be dying a lot more.  Once I get a few quests under my belt, along with the armor and companions that accompany them, I do much better.  Even so, I've died a few times to ridiculous circumstances.  For example, I ran into a kobold group, and the leader was an elite bowman, who shot me full of arrows before I moved five squares.  Another time, I found a necromancer tower, and I was trampled by a substantial army of undead the moment I opened the door.
This new version is awesome.

Yeah actually managed to clear out a necromancer tower, the zombies usually die in two hits, anywhere.  Got the book...now how to get the necromancer's power...

Seriously, I really don't know.
