I can only assume that he blocked the dragonfire by spinning his blade so fast the flames blew around, like Rurouni Kenshin some swordguy from any anime about swordguys.

Fix'd :P

Ehh, true enough :P

It's the only manga I actually like.

So I made it!

Kel managed to cross the mountains with a single piece of toad meat left. Took something like two hours IRL though, and upon entering Travel wolves surrounded him and tore his eye out. He's otherwise alright, and the real adventure can start!

There are, uh, a lot of ruined towns right now. I walked into what I thought was a forest retreat to find myself at a tavern, populated by elves. A quick look around revealed that I was, in fact, in a human civ under elven population. Looks like some serious shit went down. I have yet to find anything meaningful in Legends.

So anyway, the druid ended up having a job for me. Our hero Kel Roarsbattle is to travel to The Abyss of Punches (great...) and take on Agesh Massivecomets the Tenacious Certainty, a Giant. Dude's got nine kills under his belt, so here's hoping I'm not number ten.

A blizzard man (total douche btw) broke my wrists and hands before leaving. As i was walking around, passing out every now and then, he came back. To gouge my eyes out. There i was having my eyes gouged out and occasionally being punched, when a polar bear decides to join the party and bites my arm off. Alright, that's cool, i can't see anything and i'm heavily bleeding. Eventually the bear bites me to death.

Well, I got a mission to kill a bronze colossus from some dwarf queen, and decided I was bored with my adventurer. Deciding going down in a blaze of glory, hacking ineffectually at the bronze colossus with my... bronze axe, I head out.

I find the colossus. I hit it. I miss. He hits me. He misses. Then we literally go on until my dwarf gets drowsy after 20 or so minutes hacking at him, getting me to legendary in dodger, armor user, shield user, axedwarf, wrestler, fighter and what not, and I decide to run away.

Now, bear in mind: throughout this fight, NONE of us took ANY damage at all. None, nada, zilch. So I leave, and decide to kill everyone. I've been murdering my way through the world since then. I'm up at 362 notable kills, 2 dragons, the rest of them dwarfs and humans (I cannot find any elves. All the forest retreats are empty; I suspect they ran away or something.) and 72 other kills.

Anyway, in this latest human town, I got an announcement from someone proclaiming to be the "high sucker", saying I should prepare to die. (note, thats his title, not his name. apparently the high priest of this religion is called high sucker.)

TIME TO KILL THIS SUCKER (HOHO)

Edit: Also, apparently the rain is made out of acid, or lava, because I started melting when I was outside in the rain. Anyone else have this problem?

Acid rain is a bug in the current version. Toady will probably fix it...or fixed already in a bug fix...no idea, didn't check for updates for a good while.

A civ leader bugged out on me and chopped my arm off. I killed him, I escaped despite being chased by guards, and I finally stopped bleeding/passing out/what have you, and I'm very much alive. I doubt that'll last much longer though so I'm considering just retiring Kel.

I've been having a blast. Had so much fun I registered just so I could talk about it!

The first attempt I melted after entering a keep in search of a deer demon that was supposed to live somewhere in the town. Fingers crossed that was due to the acid rain bug, because I don't like deer demons that melt me :(

Second attempt (after disabling weather) I got incredibly lucky in my first fight which was against an ettin. zmy water had started off as ice, so I threw that at the ettin, and missed. Then I somehow managed to avoid getting violently ripped apart which somehow boosted my wrestling up to professional from unskilled in one move. Then I eventually managed to take down the ettin by breaking about 100 different things in its body, fun times! Also, there was plenty of beer and wine and spirits lying around in puddles, so at least I won't die of thirst now.

After returning victoriously to town, I had enough prestige or fame or whatever it is to convince a hammerman, Sitsu Fancygifts and a macewoman, Asi Drummedsink. Decided to head to the next town, where Monal was offered a job to kill a giant who'd supposedly killed 39 people. Ooookay. Decided to try the next town after that, and was given the task of killing a giant in the same place who'd killed 61 people.

Tried my luck, second giant killed was Mr 61, Sitsu got his arm broken so I acquired a slightly nicer shield and Asi became a legendary wrestler who unfortunately got smashed in the ribs, punctured lung, had trouble breathing but was too stubborn to die. Pity, because she has really nice boots.

I decided to go back to town to brag and got told to kill yet another giant, in the same cave AGAIN, only this one has killed 96 people. No problem. I'm thinking they're just exaggerating these numbers anyway to make the giants seem more fearsome than they actually are, because I haven't been turned into paste yet.

Picked up a hammerwoman, Tiquo Siegerounded, and went back to the giant cave to look for the other two. Asi was still there and looking much healthier so she came along too. Well, I found the one that'd killed 39 people, and I'm not sure exactly how I survived, because previous experience has told me that Bleeding and Pale blinking at you and passing out twice while fighting a giant is usually fatal. I guess if there was ever a useful meatshield though, it's a legendary wrestler.

Continuing further downward after putting all my organs and such back together, I eventually came to an underground cavern area, where most of the loot from over a thousand years of giant pillaging seems to be piled up. There's literally 2-3 items in every square of the area the giants live in.

I've just noticed that I have a couple of battle scars which seem fairly permanent, which is pretty cool. A broken nose (the cartilage is apparently smashed apart and infected) that is slightly worrying, I hope that doesn't turn out to be fatal. Also, a torn artery in the right ankle muscle, which seems fairly harmless, for now anyway.

So that's where I'm at, trying to find some giant who's killed 96 dudes so I can whack him, while trying not to fall over from all the loot I'm carrying, and wondering if there's any way to fix my nose or ankle up.

If you ever get an infection, you will die of it, no matter what happens. You can't cure it at the moment.. but there is always one way to cure any disease in DF.

Magma. Either that or just get the infected part torn/shot/severed/ripped off. I'm not sure if that works though. That's what i did with my ear: Ran into battle naked and got pelted by crossbow bolts, one of them eventually shot off my right ear.

Well, dang. Lucky for me I managed to get myself an honourable death at the hands of an ettin before that happened then.

Time to apply some universal disinfectant I guess. Pity there wasn't enough for the elves, oh well...

So I wanted to swim up a major river near a human faction after my elf adventure died near that faction in a similar venture. To that end I created a human adventurer and gave him a novice level swimming skill(the rest was spent on shield and sword skills so that the fate that happened to my poor elf would not happen to him), planning to build it up manually by swimming the pool in the local temple. Well, it seemed that having novice skill in swimming is not enough anymore to prevent drowning, as when I jumped in the pool I immediately started to drown. At first I thought that my armour was weighing me down, so I removed it. That did not work, so in a panic I threw off everything I had on me, only to realize that I did not drop anything, as my adventurer was holding it all in his own two hands(!), though how he did THAT I do not know. Anyhow I was still drowning and thus preceded to drop every thing that I was holding. That did not work so I then tried to climb out of it, and when that failed I just gave up and let him drown. But I swear I must have swum at least a hundred tiles and sat in a hundred more before I finally kicked it, I even had a nice chat with the high priestess while I waited to drown.(I really wish there was a "Help me, I am drowning! Please help me get out!" option in the conversation menu)

Also, while I waited to drown I noticed that there was a "smear of water" in the water. I wonder how that works? :P

Lost horribly to a Cyclops. He didn't even kill me immediately. I was just lying there, alternating between unconscious and puking on myself, as he went about snapping every bone in my body. I finally bled to death from some internal injuries while he was snapping my fingers.

I keep finding figurines of my dead adventurers in the underground caverns. One of my nord, one of my ezrakim elf, one of my snakeman. Who makes them? Who leaves them around? Will my current adventurer be the next figurine?
