Killed the wolf. Meat for months! Got ambushed by a second one. Wounded it so much, it's fleeing. Went to sleep, woke up to being ganged on by dingos. I ran. They killed my companion with the heirloom. Or not. We fought them off.

I didnt know night creatures would attack settlements. It is kinda suicidal, as I dont think they will ever run away if things go bad. civilians charging to attack it shows that the morale system still need some balancing, though. Civilians should fight only if left no alternative or if the monster killed one of their loved ones.
I once had a huge group of over a dozen Night Creatures attack a town in the middle of the night several versions ago. None of the civilians fought back or helped though. Just stood there while their neighbors got mauled to death and I did all the work, complaining about how horrifying it was.

Might have to do with the value system.  Human values are randomly generated for each civ at the beginning of worldgen and this may lead to vastly different behaviors.

I had a full iron-armored character that died in a battle with a night troll , as despite the night troll died first, my character was stuck on the ground unable to move and unable to breath anymore after what the night troll did to him and as it is impossible to fast travel in such condition (the game prevent you) and there's no help possible from the allies coded yet (1 ally survived that battle, 2 were dead), death was unavoidable.

So after losing the character to suffocation, i decided to create a peasant to see how the AI would react (as most of everything that is not undead or night troll flee from just seeing a demigod starting character)

The ally from previous character was still on the worldmap, so i went there, fortunately the fallen character was still on that map and so i could equip fully in iron my peasant .
I moved back to town, but i had to cross a river.

A move that is always annoying to do as it stop your worldmap progression and you have to get distance with the river in order to go back to worldmap but usually is uneventfull.... when you don't play with a peasant.

Oh, yes i forgot he was a peasant (and so with low skills and stats everywhere) at that point (and with full iron armor was then really slow as armor skill was low)
As he was floundering and started to drown and couldn't move anymore out of the river i then remembered that i should have given him a bit of swimming skill before attempting the fully iron armoured river diving :D

I mostly jump rivers ( srpint to max speed then jump), though I never tried with a armored peasant.

If the myth arc doesn't include Ganesha-type shenanigans, I'll be disappointed.

Found an elf without a head, and yet he lives.

Not for long. As you are close enough to see him, he will suffocate before you offload him.

But if he was vampire, then he would survive forever, as they do not have to breathe.

Completely robbed the elves. Now I can give those artifacts to some trader in a town. Or to a random animal person. That would be good. Gave the two heavier ones to my companion. Gave the artifacts to a bluejay man.

Adventure mode doesn't like me. After 3 worldgens where I didn't find a library anywhere for hours, I finally genned a world where my starting fortress has a library.
While writing my 4th book... "You feel uneasy".
A Brute of Twilight decided my starting fort was an excellent place to murder everyone, including me. I did bite it's foot off.

You can fill your backpack with alcohol exactly as you fill it with water. Now I have 20 prickleberry wine.

I got a questto kill a cyclops and took a long time to find him in the cave. Upon finding him he kicked my head off as soon as I got close to him.
