I had a full iron-armored character that died in a battle with a night troll , as despite the night troll died first, my character was stuck on the ground unable to move and unable to breath anymore after what the night troll did to him and as it is impossible to fast travel in such condition (the game prevent you) and there's no help possible from the allies coded yet (1 ally survived that battle, 2 were dead), death was unavoidable.
So after losing the character to suffocation, i decided to create a peasant to see how the AI would react (as most of everything that is not undead or night troll flee from just seeing a demigod starting character)
The ally from previous character was still on the worldmap, so i went there, fortunately the fallen character was still on that map and so i could equip fully in iron my peasant .
I moved back to town, but i had to cross a river.
A move that is always annoying to do as it stop your worldmap progression and you have to get distance with the river in order to go back to worldmap but usually is uneventfull.... when you don't play with a peasant.
Oh, yes i forgot he was a peasant (and so with low skills and stats everywhere) at that point (and with full iron armor was then really slow as armor skill was low)
As he was floundering and started to drown and couldn't move anymore out of the river i then remembered that i should have given him a bit of swimming skill before attempting the fully iron armoured river diving
