Nope! Completely nude, as is standard for someone having been resurrected.

Hehe, oh right. Speaking of raising dead I can't seem to be able to raise dead animal bodies, just their heads. I also noticed that if a body has a cloven asunder body part like head then that also seems to abolish it from being raised. That's why I had to pull out my semi-human sized ischronite drolth-sword to kill that giantess and even with that I could only have the option to give life to her hands and head but not body and feet. Can't even raise the dead roc, probably because of pulped brain/head matter since the bismuth bronze drolth wasn't able to cleave it off and destroyed it instead after too many fractures, quite the amount of strength needed! Wonder how big a roc is in DF *checks wiki* 2- 20,000,000!!??? *jaw drops off* :o *picks up jaw and casts "healunit" on self* Holy fuck, now I'm impressed. My ischroboar who's at default 75,000 body size and is probably currently at 76,000-79,000 due to muscles along with specific height (103), length (101) and broadness (113) modifiers in the raw (can't be arsed to do the math right now). Also I didn't knock the roc out of the sky with five coins, it was just one coin that happened to have 5 before it's stack number which is weird as all of the coins I have, have number five at the end of the coin name.

Decided to see if my outsider/peacekeeper/lord can even write something so I picked a nearest corpse outside my tower and happened to write a "The Pursuit of Death" quire and then a codex and nope it's not a manual for necromancy but instead the killing of the bandit leader.. guess it's a manual of how to kill bandits? Was meant to be a simulation/test but since I got a book about the last bandit he killed in the camp I thought "why not" and saved the game. Honestly my structure now that it is done I had a second look at it and it has a rather strong lovecraftian vibe to it with all the green and the main 3 levels high ruling hall on top with a 2 level high bedroom/living room/library/storage hybrid room (done that in Minecraft countless of times, combining rooms into multiple things) as a sub-area and yeah, one has to either climb there or jump there to access the entrance. In the future I think I can try my hand at more abstract and confusing structures like a labyrinth or an exotic building complex.

so slowly getting tick off on the whole random selected group of animal men can't chop down trees even though they have an axe in hand.

wonder if this is caused by either woodcutting needs a proper grip to cut a tree down.
time to cross off axolxtol men off the list of races you could cut wood with.

Yeah - bodies without grasp parts can't be raised. I think heads technically qualify due to the biting attack, which is why they can be raised individually and why you can still raise corpses without arms but with heads.

Also the latter is due to pulping - if a body part is completely structurally destroyed (with the "look" function it should be described as "mangled" - bodies with missing parts are described as "mutilated" instead) then it cannot be raised, which is why blunt weapons and such tend to be better for zombies since the killing blow will most likely mangle the body, rendering it unusable - whereas with edged weapons you can sever a bunch of body parts and now you have 2 more targets to contend with, unless of course you get the "cloven asunder" prompt, which is the same as pulping.

If there is a priest there, ask them about the temples while standing inside it (just type str while talking to pull up the structures prompt) and they'll mention stuff like "allows us to experience the glory of volcanos" with those.
I went back and checked that - and yeah, he did mention volcanos in regards to the lava pool - he also mentioned the upper levels being made to glorify mountains. Interesting, didn't know this was a thing.

okay so I build a camp in a good forest as a goblin and made a 2x3 tile swimming pool for training swimming the water level is about 4/7 so my character doesn't drown in it.
decided to sleep and wake up to find lungfish waddling around in the man made pool.

Lungfish can fly (um...for whatever reason...) they obviously heard about your great pool and flew straight over from the nearest river.

No, I meant getting swords and stuff stuck in my chest. MY chest.

EDIT: I've started training hammer with a masterwork silver hammer I got off a goblin hammerlord. Either I've gotten used to vampiric strength, or blunt weapons have been seriously nerfed. I can barely cause bruises, even with superior strength.

Well uh, I think I crossed some type of new moral line...I don't know which one.

I'm an orc swordsman, Uk'al Amazedmatches, a member of a sand troll civilization, and I have two companions, Zuk'agarr Tamedlance and Z'an Phantomgorges.

It's still fairly early on in my quest - already some weird things were happening.

I went to the town of Bindpost, where I was sent by my zealot captain, Ziruga Beanwhip, to kill the slothful mind ringleader Gaelamal Furplanks, possibly a former sand troll who was cursed by some deity.

By pure chance, I came across two vampires, an ogre maceman, Ott'or Roarstreaty, and a naga pikewoman, Vetel Sectknow. Both of them were immediately hostile - Ott'or was fought in the marketplace and so he didn't stand much of a chance when the merchants and local guards charged him. I managed to drink his blood and become a vampire myself. Then I came across Vetel, who I fought one-on-one, and it was surprisingly easy, not just because of my own enhanced strength, but also because, well...she was naked and unarmed, like Ott'or - I have no clue why, but I've been noticing completely naked people in mead halls and such recently, I'm guessing that's some 43.xx glitch.

I couldn't get a single-hit kill on Vetel, so I opted for carving up her limbs instead - afterwards, a horrid, evil idea crept into my head, and I took some of her blood and put it in my backpack.

I then went into the local tavern, the Sugary Mouth, and emptied one of the barrels that was filled with sewer brew.

I then did this after filling the barrel.

I think I'm the orcish Dio Brando. (yes it actually did vampirify them, they're described as vampires when I ask for directions).

I'm currently going through a vault with my future waifu's true name in it. Before I entered, I prayed to my goddess, Rithol Bannermatch. I prayed to her again each time I added a weapon to my arsenal. I have a gored foot, so I need a crutch, but I'm fighting the archangel now. It's a giant feathered chameleon. Wish me luck!

EDIT: It's dead. That was anticlimactic.

I prayed one more time when I read the slab. Biretha. What a cute name.

My final haul:
 - A true name
 - A Spirit of War horn
 - A pale metal short sword
 - A pale metal spear
 - A crescent pale metal axe
 - Some scars

I would have gotten a shield, but for two reasons. First, shield material and quality don't matter. Second, my last name is Ironshield.

I don't know why, but when I read about your adventurer I have this mental image of a really fat, lonely otaku-ish guy who has a shrine dedicated to Biretha in his home (probably also has a crude body-pillow with the demon herself painted on both sides) and whose only reason for going on this quest is to make her love him.

In any case, I retired Uk'al, who gained the title "the Dour Chapel of Combinations" from his numerous kills, in Cloisteredhails, a hamlet which I took over, with the other two vampires as his hearthpeople.

Interestingly, after I made a few miscellaneous throw-away adventurers in order to slightly repopulate a ruined town, Cradleheroes, the lady of which is a sand troll spearwoman necromancer, Uralla Leadaxes (I'm guessing she'll be the Enya to Uk'al's Dio), Uk'al stopped ruling Cloisteredhails and became the lord of Rushtamed, the hometown of Zuk'agarr and Z'an, even creating an entirely new group in the process - Zuk'agarr then ruled Cloisteredhails in his place. Intruiging, never seen this happen before, tbh.

Basically the exact opposite of that. A tall, well-muscled, 100% mortal man who is going on a quest to win her love. The lonely part is probably right, and also the zero social skills.

...who probably still has a demoness body pillow.

EDIT: ...what?

Beware of tail swipes.

Murdered innumerable wildlife (thankfully df can tell me exactly how many giant hamsters I slaughtered!) And travelled far to the north to find some forest retreats and a cluster of vutchnell hillocks and a fort. Good news, forts can be built and appear in-game off of mountains. Bad news, I goofed and forgot to 1) add intelligence to the low-born and high-born vutchnell castes and 2) close the caste selection, so only the average caste even had basic descriptions aside from the racial text.

So 2/3 of them are tame, unnamed pet-like "people" which you can't talk to and have no descriptions to tell individuals apart. They do have entity relations apparently, and even the idiots are recognized as bandits for the purposes of reporting kills. Probably be a murderer if I go around killing the civilian pets.

Earlier on I learned the secrets of pyromancy, hydromancy, and necromancy, and became a vampire. This is a rhinoceros man adventurer. They're like ~15x human size.

Beware of tail swipes.

Rawr, that tail. :V

Speaking of noodly things, toyed with re-implementing underground animal-people as playable. Stun Facenibbler the Snake of Snacking, serpent man.

Turns out that in a monster island, even modding serpentmen to be human-sized doesn't put you very high on the food chain.

Which still begs the question: Once you get the female demon you do realize that demons of DF are COLOSSAL beings? You probably know that so I'm cutting to the chase: How do you stick it in her? o_O
