So I was on a hunt for some Beast hiding near the coast. Sift through his cave and find nothing, but I notice an * on the ocean, so I go to check it out. Ocean was frozen, but it was dark, so I could barely see far, and ended up having to go back to land, hoping that the Travel screen could line me up with my prey. The moment I step back onto the beach though, the ocean thaws. I check the Travel screen, and the * is gone...

I can only assume the dumb bastard went to go grab some early morning Crabs on the ice, and ended up drowning in the ocean. Damn Ocean kill-stealed me...

Roll another world to notice there's a wagon-man kingdom which allows me to dance with people.
I pump up all Tira's bard skills in hopes of doing more performances.

My dwarven bard/archer plays music badly, gets others to sing badly. It's very sinister how this is playing out. It's like he's trying to warp the world.

It is nice to be able to customize the dwarven soul. In 40.24 I always wondered if my dwarf was actually fond of trade, dreamed of baroque rooms and hated traveling and swording.

It's good to finally have a dwarf that's austere, non-complaining and unmoved by horror. The description of sturdy in the creature_standard.txt now makes sense. Before it was just whatever.

I never recruited random people much in 40.24 outside of rescues.

They're proving surprisingly hard to kill. I'm down to six but they just rip through everyone. I think I need to take them to a town to fight dungeon bandits, which is where I got these guys.
