On this map I built a giant statue, next time I'm not just going to build a giant statue, but a giant statue garden. The whole map shall tremble in awe of my craft, the legendary statue garden of Pnx shall never be forgotten.

That server software seems to be half awesome and half evil.  ;D

In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.
or maybe throw them into the large hadron collider to atom-smash them instead.
Not to mention to throw all available animals into tiny pits.

We are back to normal because the new software borks physics in weird ways. hahaha

Sounds unique.
Care to elaborate?

magma and water don't flow. Steps don't double up. I doubt that sand and gravel fall down.

Quick note: Since I started server logging this morning, 35 different people have logged onto the server :]

Ah, yes, I know that server software. It's extremely handy when managing users, but it disables Minecraft physics completely! This disables most of the possible griefing chances (most importantly water and magma flooding), but it also disables all of the challenge when building under-magma and -water structures. Also, water and magma elevators are hard to build with it.

I really, really like the "trusted user" system, but disabling all the water and magma properties when magma and water played a big part in every map so far (be it through elaborate underwater structures or surface magma) is not a good thing. So, I vote against the new server software.

I vote for updating the damn server software. Somehow. With black magic and force of will.

The general consensus is (god forbid) we ever play a map without lava or water, we'll use it. Other than that I tried looking through the code to see what screws with the physics but recompiling it minus that portion of the code may break more things.

Yay for more hilariously broken tests to come.

If anyone has any ideas regarding say... admincraft or any other minecraft server scripts. cMss download is down and needs to be recompiled from source in python. There's a perl script that doesn't work on 64 bit win7... i'll be glad to try stuff out.

The basic server software sucks.

The default server software seems to have problems with anything larger than 512x512x128. Which is plenty huge really.

The current map on Kael's here looks like 256x256x128, but it might be 256 cube, cant tell.

Wow. That caverns is amazing.

I couldn't come up with any better ideas, but I hid Lagaan behind the quote (a rather crappy lo-res one); and I grew a small tower cap/plump helmet hybrid farm near a path. No sig-worthy stuff however. It's been some time since I last mine-crafted.
