I've got an idea bouncing around my head, I'll see if I can put it together in omen. If it works out, I'll post screens.

Whatever it is, I want it to have at least three of These Things. At least twenty blocks in diameter.

And perhaps a few very large trees? I mean large enough to make the ones in the Fortress map with the dick controversy feel inadequate.

I came, I saw, I put in my sign of approval in an out of the way area!

Edit: Almost forget to ask, when is it more busy? (apparently the answer isn't sometime around 1:20 AM)

After playing around in omen for a while, I came up with this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It's a 256^3 block, half underground, with a vertical cliffface and river on top, and at the moment a shitty attempt at a handmade lava cavern a la this past map. It would take a little clever work to make the caverns accessible and unfloodable, but it could be done with some adminium and sponges securely buried in adminium. If anyone wants it, I'll upload it somewhere once I've gotten the caverns sorted out.

The ZOMG maps were rather popular. Always a good choice to fall back on.

Easy. Every block of liquid multiplies itself to the horizontally adjacent blocks (not diagonally, though) and the block below the original block of liquid. Water does it very fast, magma takes very long.
So, in other words, there is no water pressure. The U-pipe test wouldn't work.

Also, when calculating the liquid's movement, decorations and half-blocks (the stair ones, I mean) count as a a whole block. So, you can block magma with flowers which the character can still walk through. Be careful, though: Flowers vanish after a short period of time if they are not on dirt blocks. I'm also pretty sure they need light. Mushrooms can be placed on stone blocks. The little bush/tree things can be placed anywhere, I think.

So, yes, one block of water at the top of the map in the middle, completely detached from any actual source of water would flood the entire map.

Sounds like one of the /b/tards that failed to destroy the /v/ servers yesterday because of hyperactive admins.

Is there a way to clear out the magma, i'm trying to make my pyramid connect to the lower levels

Fill the area you wish emptied with whatever block you want and then remove them.
Or the dwarfy method: Pour water on it, clear the resulting stone avay, level for level, and then use sponges to get rid of the water.
