This isn't a topic about how awesome Europe is, its a topic about opposing a shortsighted bill.

you have a major powder keg in Europe that only needs a fuse to be lit. For a modern Archduke Ferdinand to be assassinated. The situation is sensitive enough for it to spiral out of control.

So Earth is on the verge of a tantrum spiral?

QUICKLY! ARTIFICIAL WATERFALLS FOR EVERYONE!!

Sensei, as an italian I can tell you that video games are legal here in italy.

and I am ashamed of that person we have as prime minister.
He is funny... until you remember that he is the one running everything and that he has been escaping from law since he entered politics.

I really don't think WWIII is going to be sparked anytime soon.

Why would European countries go to war?  Silvio Berlusconi is certainly horrible in many ways, but his ideology does not involve invading other countries.  Same for Germany.  They'll grumble about having to foot part of the bill for the PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain), probably eliminate the aid (almost nothing gets done in the EU unless France and Germany are behind it) and go on as normal afterwards.  All countries really only stand to lose in the event of a war.

As for the digital piracy bill, we're hoping the change of government that will occur in March will disrupt it somewhat.

Because of anti-piracy laws.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

See? Piracy will cause World War 3 and the extinction of the human race. Therefore, you shouldn't download mp3s. (This is a caricature please don't take anything I said there seriously)

I wouldn't be surprised if we'd get in a piracy crisis soon. With all the economic activity that's being shifted to the net without any form of viable controll, things are bound to go wrong in a spectacular way. Oh well, at least my edication can get me into weapons development rather easely...

Please, stop theorising about Europe going to war. And go tell your parents/siblings to send mails to their MPs as well.
