Doesn't the military have crazy plans for everything? Like, for alien attacks and robot uprisings and stuff?

Patton beat them all to it anyway.  Crazy bastard led a company straight through Soviet-occupied Germany to rescue some show-ponies, and regretted not taking shots at them along the way.  Almost led the Third Army right on through to Poland if Bradley and Eisenhower hadn't slapped him with guard duty.

That is something I'd love to see.

I bet they do, too.

Why dont they call them a neuter like any normal person would? That's what they are!
Because there are a helluva lot of people out there who are not neuters, but do not fall into either sex. And there are people out there who are perfectly fine as one sex and simply gendered differently. And there are people out there who are completely mangled sexually and thus would be 'neutered'. By your logic, wouldn't all sterile people be 'neuters'? Sure, they look male or female, but they're not, they can't do what a 'true' male or female can (reproduce).
Whereas. There are people with male sexes who are female gendered. People who are female in body and male in mind. People who are male or female in body and genderless in mind. And every single possible combination you can think of.
Intersex is the word for people who do not simply want to change their bodies from the sex they were born into, to the other.

Here's an exercise for cisgendered folks (your social gender matches your biological sex). If you're alone, say out loud what your gender is: "I am Male" or "I am Female" respectively. How does that feel? Probably like nothing; it's true. Now say the opposite: "I am Female" or "I am Male". Did that feel different? Probably felt a bit silly, because to you it isn't true.

Heh, I tried this. I said aloud "I am male" and then "I am female." The latter made me feel like a fool while I was fully comfortable with the former. It's odd, to me, because I am a woman and I am fine with that.

Possibly because you don't usually go around stating your gender out loud.

Most probably.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the Pentagon has plans for an Alien Invasion, i know that the old Cold War plans for a Soviet occupation of the USA will still be in there somewhere.

And yet saying the one that is not physically true is more comfortable? And it's my sex, not my gender, kthnx.

Not exactly.  It just seems to make more sense somehow.

And gender and sex can be interchanged in normal speech.  I'm not a social scientist :P.

Neuter means neither gender. It has nothing to do with their "true" gender or their ability to reproduce. That's just the definiton of the word for god sakes. If the guy wants to be a woman call him a woman, if the woman wants to be a man call her a man, and if either wants to be neither call it a neuter.

Plus if you call someone who doesn't want to be either gender "intersex" it can appear as if they are both, and thats not right...

What's the difference?

Sex: physical attributes that mark you as male, female or other
Gender: mental state as male, female or other
