Surrealist Terrorism
« on: March 16, 2010, 12:15:43 am »

I have been writing a strange book lately, but I need to test to see if the premise...er...works. I have taken an isolated chapter from this book and put it in spoilers, about an abortion clinic bomber named Pahana. Kalki is the name of a left-wing terrorist who lives in exile after killing the US President, he's not really that important. Anyway, read and comment.

I passionately dislike books written to deliver a message. Other than that I guess it doesn't really have anything that special about it. I can't really make out anything about the characters in the book, which is by far the most important part.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

I suggest making an account on writing.com and getting it reviewed there.

Way too much Author Tract.

Yeah, hm. I don't know how to fix that...without, er, destroying the message (which I'm not going to say, because well, that's stupid; the reader should decide what the book says, not the author). Oh well.

But at least I know that I don't have to worry too much about this project. Yay, I guess.

So basically, they're the Moderate Crime Squad?

What I'm trying to do is create a setting where any political disagreement becomes a matter of great concern, and will ultimately leads to violence and chaos. There is one way, the correct way, and you are afraid that the nation will deviate from this correct way. You are willing to do anything possible to ensure that society stays with the correct path...and the only logical conclusion is violence. That's part of the reason of this Abortion Clinic Bomber passage, to present the image of such a setting.

I see. But it's not very surreal. Surrealist Terrorism would be like, a building is taken over by terrorists, with everyone taken hostage. In order to deliver their demands to the police surrounding the building, one of the terrorists walks out with a letter pinned to his shirt, before lifting a nerf gun to his head. He screams the word 'BAGS', and then fires it, and falls over, playing dead.

The terrorists letter demands the immediate delivery of seventeen kilograms of Reese's Puffs Cereal, a demand that M&M add white M&Ms, a dwarf elephant painted orange to be delivered to the White House, and for Arrested Development to return to broadcast in a new season.

The letter would conclude with a condemnation of Mars Inc. for their racist practice of having white M&Ms, and no Black M&Ms. They also warn that they are heavily armed with the latest in Super Soaker Technology, and are not afraid to use it against the hostages, or the police. In order to prove it, they release a single hostage, dripping with water.

Finally, when the SWAT team invades, finding the only resistance consists of a few dozen men armed with Super Soaker Quick Blast Water Blasters, the last terrorist in the building reaches the intercom system, and immediately sets it to play Never Gunna Give You Up on infinite loop.

thats lolrandum xD not surrealism.
surrealism would be more like, the terrorists operate out of a kettle that is also a chicken, and their weapons only damage the imagination.

also they spout metaphysics equations as they do terrorist-y things.
