What's the inside of the apartment look like?  From the outside it looks like Italy today with more carts and fewer Vespas.

Modern Italy still has much of the old Roman architecture restored to it's former glory. Poor Italians, they went from owning the world to being, well, Italy.

The Romans adopted much of the Greek lifestyle, so yes, it was both.

Middle-class... however, the vast majority IIRC would be lower class, and then you literally live in an apartment which could collapse any second, so crappy were they built.

Actually i'm pretty sure most Roman Citizens lived a pretty good life, if you weren't a Citizen though, then yeah, life sucked.

Oh, apart from slaves, all people were citizens. There are, however, richer and poorer citizens.

Why does everyone seem to forget about the other civilizations during this time period? I mean I know that they are completely un-advanced and they can't make alchohol(god's happy juice) but lets give China some time. They're only a little rabbit-esk, by that I mean they hump and have a child every 5 months. They will win any war by human catapults!

I thought ancient China was the most advanced country during that time period. I must be thinking of the Middle Ages or Dark Ages or something.

Well they were especially advanced during the 1000s-1300s they did have a vast history dating from 2200 BC all the way up to well 16th century AD.
