The Hurt Locker
« on: March 15, 2010, 10:04:55 pm »

Eh, I was just thinking about it.

I thought it was good, despite being very unrealistic.

Unrealism
1. Squad goes off alone without orders.
2. Soldier goes off on his own. In the middle of night.
3. Squad encounters S.A.S. group in the desert
4. Colonel goes into the field.

But overall I still thought it was good.

Wait why is this unrealistic?
What are the chances of a squad of ordinary GIs/Marines stumbling onto a group of S.A.S. operatives who get almost wiped out by militants?
And then the GIs/Marines wiping out the militants without any more mention of the S.A.S.?

I wouldn't only put is as that but as also the SAS are explaned in COD4. When they are the guys behind the scenes controlling everyone. currently they are the most highly trained Military service they are expected to go out with only a 4 man squad and get the job done. However Hollywood will always favor the our country and make us look the most bad ass. It usually works. GI JOEEEE!!! ;D

They were S.A.S.? I thought they were PMCs. Hmm. The movie was great anyway. The acting was good and the plot was solid.

You know, a lot of sometimes I hate Hollywood for always  making our nation superior than others in many movies.

And knowing is half the battle!

Is there an American-made movie in which Americans lose?
(apart from civil war movies)

Any movie involving Vietnam, even if it doesn't explicitly show it.

Not true, they always win the battle they're fighting.

That may be true. But it is also irrelevant.

I've always loved that line.

A movie with a title like this should involve an American defeat:

Custer's Last Stand

Edit: Also, TONKA. I saw part of that once when I was a child and only just now realized what it was from.

Does Avatar count?
