Tikki Tooki is fun, but I didn't find any way of pleasing him short of instakilling monsters. Are there other ways?

Wiki says that "Killing an enemy without taking damage return awards an extra 1% Dodge Bonus and removes Poison and Mana Burn. An extra Health Potion is awarded when you first worship Tikki Tooki as well", so it seems that there is no other way.
Normal dungeon level has 39 monsters (I'm not sure about other dungeons, maybe they contain 40 because they have 2 bosses). To achieve 74% dodge, I had to be a rogue, bought elven boots and killed almost every monster without taking damage... I liked it, so maybe I'll try to reach maximum (79 or 80%) dodge.

I just did the same thing... unfortunately the boss could still 1 shot me at level 9 (and was a skeleton so 30% phys resist) and I wasn't lucky enough to kill it. Pretty fun though.

I'm starting to get mad at this.  Every time I'm doing well it suddenly gets really choppy and wont' stop being choppy and I end up accidentally clicking on a high level monster because it's so choppy.

A bloodmage with poison and fireball is hilariously broken.

I poisoned the boss at level 4, then through a combination of the health -> mana spell, throwing puny 12 damage fireballs and exploring the dungeon, I slowly wittled down Medusa (luckly not one of the magic resistant ones).

For my troubles I manged to beat the boss in 6:13 and got the achievement "cocky, arn't you". Heh.

I have beaten the snake boss with 3-rd level wizard once. Got 3 level-ups for that. Wizard is good for early boss killing, because his spells cost less.

Edit: At last, I have completed every dungeon with every class...
The most challenging one was beating Factory with half-dragon.
Now I'm going to try to get a good score.

Phew... My best time at Ranked is 3:02 with 53k score.

Version 0.14 is out!

http://www.qcfdesign.com/?cat=20
Ooh nice. I checked yesterday and saw they meant to publish it last week. That got me all sad thinking they missed their submission goal and thus the new version would be delayed considerably. Thanks for sharing!

Now to lose several hours of the day.

EDIT: Saves seem to be compatible. I still don't know whether I should start fresh or not.

Great, an update.
The god system is now much better, with faith and praying for boon introduced to add a bit more depth.
Reminds a bit more of Dungeon Crawl god system.

Yep this is fun and annoying at the same time...
Just spawned in a dungeon with levels 9 8 and 4 guarding the only paths out...

Maaan, Lothlorien is HARD.

I finally got through the first part, then ran into an impossible scenario:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That was kind of bullshit, especially as you're supposed to beat all three of them back to back.

On the good news side of things, I tried a fresh profile and I won almost every game I started. I apparently learned a lot in all those hours beating the hardest levels. Though Factory with a Wizard is still taunting me.

Super Old Thread!

Just wanted to note that this game has hit Steam today, and I got my key because I ordered it ages ago.

heres their own page, it has a web browser beta you can play that always has the latest version: http://www.desktopdungeons.net/

and the Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/226620

At any rate, i'm not going to go on and on about it. It's a great little game that has been lavished with lots of love and attention. It's come a looooong way from the original design, and while the original "classic" version may stillbe the favorite in some circles, the polish and new features are pretty awesome as well.

Well worth a shot, IMHO.

Same here as well. :P

That said this game is totally awesome, and is great for slipping in a quick game between classes or when you only have a few minutes to play and don't have time for a longer game.
