{...} In relation to bug fixing.  Thus the merge items, compatibility and interface additions still need doing.

I still remember around ca when we were waiting for the 2d version to gain one more dimension in which we could play. With every dev-update I would think to myself "wow, he's really getting close to finishing this now! Just a few more days!"

Many months later, it was released... But it was worth the wait! And the awesome new bugs that made it unplayable were just part of the fun. Can't wait to see what new exciting bugs we will have in this new release :D

Looking back on some of the bugs I've seen in the update logs, I'm almost sad that I'm not going to be able to see animals wrestling with all their body parts at once.

40d graphics merge will take some time... probably more for testing, though, since it's "working" already.

It very well might not happen for the initial release (but soon after), going by what I've heard from Baughn.

If this version doesn't get released soon, I'll have my -real- dwarf fortress done before my next version's one is!


....alright, so even if it takes him another 5 years, the next version will be out sooner. BUT I had to say that.


....also, yes, I am actually working on a real dwarf fortress. A very small one, but.

No, an architect friend and I are working on building a set of underground houses for our own personal use. This is in the very long term though, we are still in the 'design and fund' stage.
