Many creatures as ONE? idea for BIG beings...

Guys I am thinking about that since i saw first dragon(yeah, BIG ...1tile dragon..).
So, is it possible to make few creatures moving as one(strict formation) to get..one creature?
Pic:

4(9, 12, whatever) tiles, 1 creature, imagine that.

Ok, I know it is not possible(sigh), but could it be real in future?
Making such creature would be different that typical one, but potential is clear, i hope...

I think you'd be better off just waiting until we have multi-tile creature support.  It's coming, don't worry.

More like DF2011 or DF2012. I don't think even Toady knows when exactly he will start working on the multi tile creatures and multi z-level structures.

Yea, but they are square, and so its easier to deal with it. The real problem is dealing with a multi-tile creature that isn't square, like say a 4X10 rectangle, how are you going to deal with it going diagonally, what about obstacles, etc. Toady is going to have to figure out how to make it do that while at the same time keeping it from breaking apart.

btw wagon is definitely not creature, but idd, it is movable with MOUNTED animals...hmmmm.
how are wagons coded, exactly? is that possible to change how wagon look like?
are mounted animals able to fight while mounted? is this editable in ANY way?
damn, maybe this is possible?

Wagons are creatures. You can open up the creature_equipment raw and see it right there. Change anything significant in that entry and it'll likely break the wagons - they're coded only for very specific setups right now.

Siege engines are largely ordinary buildings.

erm...what about

while used with normal creature?
will it force (lets name it) TEST CREATURE to have wagon look, or..what?

The wagon body is just a placeholder to make sure the thing has body parts like everything else and can stand up and "walk" and such. There's nothing special about it. The EQUIPMENT_WAGON tag is what controls the wagonish looks/behaviour, but as I said, you'll get nowhere messing with that. Well, not far. You might be able to give it firebreath or something.

I really need to look up that Dragon Tank thread...
