Engraving constructed floors/walls
« on: February 29, 2008, 02:20:00 pm »

Is there any particular reason why that's impossible?

Yes.  The reason is, "What happens when you deconstruct?" Since you build your walls/floors out of blocks, engraving them then deconstructing should leave you with engraved blocks you can rebuild elsewhere.  This is not yet supported.

Will it ever be?  Who knows.

IMO created walls should be treated like normal walls...

How's that going to work with metal walls, then?  Or wood ones?  Would you still dig through them with a pickaxe?

If there is stone beneath the constructed wall, engrave the stone. The engraving will be preserved when you build on the wall.

If there isn't, well, that's annoying. Wait untill it's supported I suppose.

On another note, removed engraved constructed walls should act much like digging into a natural engraved wall, the engraving is lost. If the wall is built well enough (masterwork quality), the creator will get the art defacement thought.
